Becker India, a manufacturer of vacuum and pneumatic equipment, has announced the opening of a new assembly unit in Pune, a development that takes it closer to its customers and to India’s dynamic packaging and processing industry.
Since becoming a wholly owned subsidiary in 2022, its focus has been to understand the needs of OEMs, respond faster, and create solutions that support their growth. Over the years, the company says it has worked closely with partners across printing, food processing, pharma, and packaging to deliver reliable vacuum and compressor technology. This consistent engagement and learning enabled it for the next natural step — local production.
Designed in line with Becker’s global standards and supported by trained engineering and operations teams, the new unit allows the company to deliver products with the same quality its global customers trust, but now with much quicker lead times and stronger on-ground support.
Milind Bhalerao, MD, Gebr. Becker India, said, “The first product to roll out of our Pune unit is the VT 4.16 Vacuum Pump, now proudly “Made in India.” Known for its dependability and efficiency, the VT 4.16 is widely used in primary packaging, vacuum conveying, pick-and-place systems, and printing applications. With local assembly, customers can expect faster availability and a smoother service experience.”
Bhalerao adds, “But for us, this milestone is about more than just a product line. It reflects Becker’s long-term belief in India’s manufacturing potential and our commitment to contributing meaningfully to the country’s industrial ecosystem. We see this as the foundation for much more to come. As we continue to grow, we remain grateful to our customers and partners who have supported our journey so far.”
