Oji India was founded in 2012 as a joint venture with JK Paper, in which JK divested its shares in 2017. The initial greenfield plant came up in Neemrama, and the company has kept on its path of penetrating all the geographic regions of the country with advanced corrugation plants in Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, and Punjab. The new Sri City plant is also equipped with modern automation technologies intended to extend the company’s formidable quality and strength benchmarks by engineering the most efficient, innovative, and environmentally responsible manufacturing possible.

Oji India produces eco-friendly packaging solutions for multiple industries such as retail, logistics, and food. The Sri City plant will be one of the major suppliers of innovative packaging solutions to the South Indian market. With an annual capacity of 100 million square meters, the company began by employing 130 people with plans to expand its workforce to 300.

Meanwhile, Sri City becomes the second-largest Japanese industrial cluster in India, taking in several investments due to its infrastructure and investment-promotion policies. Oji India is known for sustainable packaging using eco-friendly materials, customizing, and using technology to increase production efficiency. The new project has created an opportunity for more jobs, growth of manufacturing facilities in the region, and attracted further foreign investments as Sri City becomes a premium industrial destination.

Oji India Packaging’s new plant in Sri City has increased the company’s corrugated packaging production capacity in the region and the country as a whole. And with its investment in research and development plans to contribute to next-generation packaging solutions, with an eye to sustainability. The company says the plant is a milestone in the evolution of the packaging industry in South Asia, as Oji India combines innovation with sustainability and strategic expansion to set the standard for high-quality, eco-conscious packaging solutions.
