In early 2019, Comexi, a global supplier of solutions for the flexible packaging conversion and printing sector, launched Comexi Ordering On-Line (COOL), an advanced e-commerce platform that permits 3D visualization of the customer’s digital twin machine. After a year, the operation of this online spare parts shopping portal has been very positive and extremely satisfying to users, on account of being able, with this service, to immediately and instantly order any parts. This solution has had an exceptional increase during the past few weeks, due to the global situation of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Comexi Ordering On-Line (COOL) allows the customer to order spare parts with ease through Comexi’s e-commerce service, which is not only faster, simpler, and safer, but also a 24/7 online service. Primary benefits highlighted by customers, who also place importance on the ability to have 3D views of their machines and diagrams that appear in the platform, including shortening the order processing time, as well as accurate and quick identification of the necessary spare parts. This service assists customers with other maintenance work, as they are able to access the order history of spare parts. Furthermore, customers are able to export and work with, among others, wear, and tear parts.

“Comexi’s online ordering platform is a fantastic tool that allows you to quickly find the right parts, their prices, and know if the item is in stock,” explains Nickolaj Sørensen, technical director at Polyprint, adding that COOL “makes the day easier for me, as a manager, and also for service technicians. Not only can they find the right parts on their computers or tablets, but the system also allows them to view machine drawings and ensure we have all the correct parts on-site before disassembling various parts. Undoubtedly, from my perspective, COOL is the smartest and most intuitive webshop in the world.”

COOL is one of the services included in Comexi Cloud, the most innovative digital platform that assists customers with improving the performance of their plants through the analysis of real-time production data, thus allowing them to build and develop smart factories. This online platform has completely changed the manner in which printers and converters manage every type of process, due to its ability to visualize, compile, analyze, and store all data.

The Covid-19 pandemic led to the country-wide lockdown on 25 March 2020. It will be two years tomorrow as I write this. What have we learned in this time? Maybe the meaning of resilience since small companies like us have had to rely on our resources and the forbearance of our employees as we have struggled to produce our trade platforms.

The print and packaging industries have been fortunate, although the commercial printing industry is still to recover. We have learned more about the digital transformation that affects commercial printing and packaging. Ultimately digital will help print grow in a country where we are still far behind in our paper and print consumption and where digital is a leapfrog technology that will only increase the demand for print in the foreseeable future.

Web analytics show that we now have readership in North America and Europe amongst the 90 countries where our five platforms reach. Our traffic which more than doubled in 2020, has at times gone up by another 50% in 2021. And advertising which had fallen to pieces in 2020 and 2021, has started its return since January 2022.

As the economy approaches real growth with unevenness and shortages a given, we are looking forward to the PrintPack India exhibition in Greater Noida. We are again appointed to produce the Show Daily on all five days of the show from 26 to 30 May 2022.

It is the right time to support our high-impact reporting and authoritative and technical information with some of the best correspondents in the industry. Readers can power Packaging South Asia’s balanced industry journalism and help sustain us by subscribing.
