At Anuga FoodTec 2025 in Mumbai, the Ahmedabad-Kheda headquartered Roma Flexipack presented itself as a rising player in India’s flexible packaging sector. Established in 2011, the company has built a strong base in polyester-based packaging, serving largely the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) segment.
Speaking to Packaging South Asia at the exhibition, Sandip Shah, director of Roma Flexipack, said, “We are a manufacturer of flexible packaging material, mainly printing on polyester. The FMCG sector is our biggest customer base, and among our most valuable clients is Amul. We also work with Harium and Gurudyog, but Amul is our main client.”
The company produces a wide range of pouch formats, including six-sided pouches and zipper pouches. “We supply material across India,” Shah explained. “Our operations are driven by rotogravure printing technology at our plant near Ahmedabad.”
According to company literature showcased at the event, Roma Flexipack operates with an annual production capacity of 9,000 metric tons, backed by state-of-the-art machinery. Its infrastructure includes an 8-color high-speed rotogravure printing press with turn bar for in-line surface and reverse printing up to 1300 mm web width, high-speed solvent-less lamination machines for odorless and high-bonding strength lamination, and super-speed cantilever slitting machines.
This year marks Roma Flexipack’s first participation at Anuga FoodTec. “We wanted to expand our capability and expose ourselves to more clients,” Shah said. “While we are strong in FMCG, we are looking to diversify into new categories and applications.”
The company has previously taken part in regional exhibitions such as Khadiyakhora in Ahmedabad. Anuga, however, offers broader exposure. “This crowd is much better compared to what we have experienced earlier,” Shah noted.
Looking ahead, Shah is confident about industry growth. “The flexible packaging market in India is growing at 15-20% annually. Not just flexible packaging, but packaging as a whole. With more small vendors launching their own brands, the demand will only increase,” he said.
