At Media Expo Mumbai 2015, Esko and Global 5 Technologies will showcase i-cut Suite and ArtiosCAD software and a Kongsberg digital cutting table. The entire workflow from design to prepress to versatile finishing will be available at Esko’s Stand C-61 and B-44. Esko’s mtables are meant for die-less digital finishing due to their robust build, high-speed and smooth integration with Esko production software.

The Kongsberg XN is one of the most versatile digital finishing table to be configured for various applications. The Kongsberg XP is designed to handle continuous, high-speed production on the most demanding materials. Esko has more than 60 installations of Kongsberg tables all over South Asia. The i-cut Suite is a software that lets signs and display companies streamline their workflow. It preflights and edits incoming PDF files, ensuring that jobs will print correctly. Moreover, it helps build and edit sheet layouts, ensuring that jobs make the optimum use of substrates through nesting and tiling. The Kongsberg table technology ensures that die-less cutting contours match printed images perfectly, registering the actual dimensions and positioning cuts on the printed result. With an automation engine, all of these functions are automated in a single workflow, with less operator intervention.

In a commoditized market, signs and display shops are realizing that unique 3D display projects offer higher margins. More and more companies are investing in ArtiosCAD for structural design. ArtiosCAD has an extensive library of resizable display designs to help designers so they do not have to start from scratch while designing new displays.

Shrihari Rao, sales director of Esko South Asia states, The versatility that Esko’s digital finishing solution offers with i-cut Suite and ArtiosCAD software alongside the Kongsberg XN series is exactly what the growing retail and signage market in India needs. Customers understand that they cannot work manually any more. They are looking to digitize the entire workflow. They invest in the right printers, latest software, finishing machines and materials. Investing in a Kongsberg cutting table is the natural choice quality and on-time delivery are the keys to success. Esko has invested in the Digital Finishing Excellence Centre with equipment and trained staff and has nearly 60 installations in South Asia addressing various applications.

Packaging South Asia — resilient, growing and impactful — daily, monthly — always responsive

The multi-channel B2B in print and digital 17-year-old platform matches the industry’s growth trajectory. The Indian, South Asian, Southeast Asian, and Middle East packaging industries are looking beyond the resilience of the past three years. They are resuming capacity expansion and diversification, with high technology and automation in new plants and projects.

As we present our 2024 publishing plan, India’s real GDP growth for the financial year ending 31 March 2024 will exceed 6%. The packaging industry growth will match the GDP growth in volume terms and surpass it by at least 3% in terms of nominal growth allowing for price inflation in energy, raw materials, consumables, and capital equipment.

The capacity for flexible film manufacturing in India increased by 45% over the past four years. With orders in place, we expect another 20% capacity addition in 2024 and 2025. Capacities in monocartons, corrugation, aseptic liquid packaging, and labels are grown similarly. As the consumption story returns over the next six months, we expect demand to return and exceed the growth trajectory of previous years. The numbers are positive for most of the economies in the region – and as shown by our analytics, our platform increasingly reaches and influences these.

For responsible and sustainable packaging, with its attendant regulations and compliances, there is significant headroom to grow in India and the region. Our coverage includes the entire packaging supply chain – from concept to shelf and to waste collection, sorting, and recycling.

We target brand owners, product managers, raw material suppliers, packaging designers and converters, and recyclers. This is a large and complex canvas – the only thing that can work is your agile thinking and innovation together with our continuous learning and persistence.

The coming year looks to be an up year in this region, and this is the right time to plan your participation and marketing communication – in our rich and highly targeted business platform with human resources on the ground. Share your thoughts and plans and to inspire and mobilize our editorial and advertising teams!
