Nawab who entered the industry in the early 90s, is a former Malhotra Graphics executive with experience in selling CtPs, inks, plates, blankets, and digital presses. In 2009 he teamed up with Parmeshwar Patidar a software professional to start Param Software to create ERP solutions for publishing, commercial printing and packaging.
Graded ERP solutions Our software is easy to use. It is based on the Windows platform and powered by ASP.Net and is user-friendly for the shop floor executive, says Nawab. The basic entry level software is in MS-SQL and can be expanded in simple modular steps for accepting add-ons and next level advanced applications. Based on functionality it supports customization. The Level 1 enterprise solution supports functions such as estimation, job planning, quotation, order booking and job card creation. It costs just Rs 1 lakh and can be used for multiple locations and for unlimited users. The Level 2 software supports functions such as inventory management, purchase and sales with despatch and is integrated with the well established Tally accounting software. Level 3 of the software includes job scheduling, production planning, quality control and MIS reports. Lucrative Kerala market At the KMPA Print Miracle Expo Nawab said Param received over a dozen serious enquiries. We have had our first success in the Kerala market with an order from Akshara Offset in Trivandrum, which is in both commercial printing and packaging. During Print Miracle Expo in Kochi, we not only got many interested visitors but also signed an ERP solutions contract with Sterling Print House headed by G Venugopal, president, KMPA and we hope to make major headway in the vibrant and lucrative Kerala market, said Nawab. At the KMPA meet Param offered its single ERP solution for use by both commercial printers and packaging users with unlimited and multi locational usage capability. The Print MIS software targets publishers, commercial printers, packaging convertors, corrugators, and narrow-web flexo label printers. The estimation, quotation, job card and purchase order management, sales tracking, purchase, inventory scheduling, production planning, quality control and despatch modules were all on offer. Single customized solution At the Eastern Printpack in Kolkata from 27 to 30 November 2014, Param signed two contracts for ERP solutions with major commercial printers — CDC Printers and Arihant Printers. Param has also signed an ERP contract with Tholasi Prints of Bangalore, which recently installed a new Heidelberg CD-102 and SM-74 in its new Peenya Industrial Area plant. Param has more than 100 clients across the country including a large number of packaging printers and converters. Param’s major packaging clients in western India are Canpac Trends, Art-O-Print and Creative Printers of Ahmedabad and Rainbow and Crystal at Mumbai. In Bengaluru it has Brindavan, Sonika Graphics and Adroit Offset while in Kolkata the big customers are Nextgen, Avail Printers and Sneh Comprint. Nawab says that though the market is large the application of each printer and packaging convertor varies. Thus the challenge is to provide a single solution for all so that clients can use it for multiple applications as and when needed, and have it customized to their individual needs as well.
