Ahmedabad-based Maharshi Labels, one of India’s leading label printers and convertors, has simplified and smoothened its label printing operations with the help of aniloxes supplied by Acme Rolltech, a leading manufacturer of anilox rolls in India.

Maharshi Labels specializes in sticker labels and shrink sleeves. In recent years, the company has been looking for ways to improve the quality and efficiency of its label printing operations.

Acme Rolltech, which has a reputation for providing high-quality products and excellent customer service, has provided Maharshi Labels with aniloxes that enabled it to closely replicate and effectively replace screen printing for whites and varnishes. This resulted in a significant improvement in print quality and consistency.

In addition to the improved print quality, Maharshi Labels has benefited from Acme Rolltech’s efficient delivery times and after-sales support. This has helped the company to streamline its operations and reduce costs.

“Acme has provided us with unique aniloxes, which enabled us to closely replicate and effectively replace screen printing for whites as well as varnishes due to superior deposition. Also, day-to-day operations have been smooth-lined due to the effective use and efficient delivery times of aniloxes provided by Acme, along with consistent print quality as well as superior after-sales support,” Jenil Gandhi, director of Maharshi Labels, said.

Gandhi said the quick delivery of Acme Rolltech is a major advantage. “We had never bought anilox from India earlier due to the lack of technical know-how in the country for such a complex product. We were hesitant to buy locally. But it has now turned out to be a great advantage. We earlier used to have a lead time of at least a month from previous vendors, since they were all imported. And then it would be another 15-20 days due to shipment time and customs clearances. Acme has significantly reduced the lead time. We can now have the aniloxes in half the time. Strong support and technical knowledge from Acme has resulted in a tighter collaboration between us,” he said.

Maharshi Labels has five flexo presses with a combined capability of producing over five million labels per day. In addition, the company has a full-fledged finishing department with equipment for foil stamping, lamination, slitting, etc. Maharshi Labels has three dedicated 100% defect detection systems, wherein the production of all five presses is individually verified digitally at speeds of over 200 meters per minute, resulting in 100% defect-free labels.

Maharshi Labels is part of the Maharshi Group, which has an interest in industries such as pharmaceuticals, distilleries and breweries, cosmetics and toiletries, lube and edible oil, pesticides, and food and ancillaries.

Sandeep Sharma, director of Acme Rolltech, said, “Maharshi is one of the oldest and finest printers in the country, catering to a wide range of market applications. I had the privilege of working with Raju bhai, his son Jenil, and the entire management of Maharshi group for the past 15 years. For our anilox business, we have been working with Maharshi for the past four years. They are always looking for innovative options for providing premium embellishments for their customers. We work very closely with Maharshi for not only new embellishment projects but also for special anti-counterfeit security-related options as well.”
