Rajkot-based Plix Packaging, a new player in the flexible packaging sector, is targeting the Indian market and exports with high-quality flexible packaging solutions tailored for the food, non-food, and hygiene sectors. For its world-class greenfield project, the company has made strategic investments from the outset. including cutting-edge flexographic printing machines.
Plix Packaging’s new facility incorporates modern infrastructure, automation, and digital workflows and is engineered to produce packaging that is at once aesthetically impactful, functionally reliable, and more sustainable. At the heart of its project is a Bobst Vision 8-color CI flexo press. The company has also acquired a highly precise and energy-efficient blown film line from Rajoo Engineers.
Keyur Kagathara, managing director and founder of Plix Packaging, states, “Selecting Bobst early in our greenfield development was a deliberate decision to ensure reliability and quality. The company’s leadership in printing technology, coupled with extensive sales and service presence across India, gave us the confidence to achieve high production efficiency with assured top-quality printing. The integration of the Vision CI system further enhances our operations by enabling smooth, large-scale print runs with less downtime through its advanced automation capabilities.”
A standout feature of Plix’s new press is the inclusion of Bobst’s smartGPS innovative offline registration and impression setting system, which consolidates automation, speed, and sustainability into a single workflow. The system completes the 8-color press setup in under 6 minutes while limiting substrate waste to a maximum of 15 meters. Regarding this high-tech investment, Kagathara added, “We are confident that investing in such advanced technology—supported by strong reference installations across the Indian subcontinent—was a wise step for us.”
