Baumer showcased its comprehensive factory automation portfolio at Automation Expo 2026 in Mumbai, highlighting sensor technologies, machine vision, motion control, and process instrumentation designed to improve efficiency, quality, and reliability across industrial manufacturing, with a particular focus on the packaging sector.

Speaking at the exhibition, a company official said Baumer offers a broad range of automation products for packaging machinery, including solutions for double-sheet detection, roll diameter measurement, loop level monitoring, and upper-level measurement.

The company supplies machine vision systems for code reading, optical character recognition (OCR), and optical barcode (OCB) applications, enabling automated inspection and product traceability. Its broader sensor portfolio includes photoelectric sensors, inductive sensors, and encoders for industrial automation.

Packaging is one of Baumer’s key focus areas, with the company supplying automation solutions to manufacturers of form-fill-seal machines, labeling and bottling equipment, filling and dosing systems, end-of-line packaging, cartoning, and blister packaging machines.

The official said Baumer provides industrial gluing solutions through its Baumer HHS business, which specializes in adhesive application systems for packaging operations.

Beyond packaging, Baumer’s factory automation portfolio is organized into four core business segments: sensor solutions, process sensors, motion control, and vision technologies.

The sensor solutions portfolio includes photoelectric, inductive, capacitive, ultrasonic, magnetic, force and strain sensors, precision switches, fiber-optic sensors, vision sensors, color sensors, and customized OEM developments.

Its process instrumentation range includes pressure and temperature transmitters, level switches, conductivity transmitters, HART-enabled temperature transmitters, level transmitters, digital displays, user interfaces, and process accessories for industrial process monitoring.

For motion control applications, Baumer offers encoders, counters, process displays, spindle positioning systems, actuators, positioning drives, resolvers, speed switches, tachogenerators, and angle measurement systems.

The company’s machine vision portfolio features digital and intelligent cameras, smart vision sensors, OEM camera modules, optical inspection systems, surface and parts inspection systems, as well as OCR and code identification solutions for automated quality control.

Baumer said its integrated automation solutions are designed to serve industries including packaging, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, automotive, electronics, and general manufacturing, helping customers improve productivity through advanced sensing, inspection, process control, and motion technologies.
