LabelBlind, an Indian regulatory technology company founded by Rashida Vapiwala, has won the CII National AI Awards 2026 in the Most Innovative category under the Excellence in Best AI Solution Showcase. The recognition is for its project, FolSol AI, which uses artificial intelligence to digitize and streamline regulatory compliance for food and beverage companies.
FolSol AI helps businesses manage food labelling requirements across India and international export markets. Its AI-powered model analyzes food product label artworks and checks them against more than 74 parameters related to the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) and legal metrology requirements.
Speaking after receiving the award, Vapiwala said the platform enables artwork validation in minutes, helping regulatory professionals reduce the time spent on manual checks and improve consistency in compliance processes. “This reduces time spent by regulatory professionals by almost 80% and raises productivity to almost 4x,” Vapiwala said, highlighting the potential of AI to transform regulatory workflows.
Traditionally, regulatory teams must consult multiple documents, track changing regulations, and manually verify product labels against applicable requirements. FolSol AI aims to simplify this process by standardizing regulatory checks and helping businesses identify potential compliance gaps before products reach the market.
Beyond label validation, LabelBlind is expanding FolSol AI into a broader product compliance platform. The company is introducing a solution for India that covers end-to-end FSSAI requirements relating to product specifications, standards, and ingredient permissibility.
The new capability will integrate with the company’s existing label compliance solutions, bringing product-level regulatory checks and AI-powered artwork validation together in a single workflow. According to Vapiwala, the full-spectrum solution is scheduled to become available for adoption in the first week of November 2026.
The expansion, she says, reflects LabelBlind’s ambition to address regulatory compliance across the product development and labelling process, rather than limiting automation to artwork verification alone. The platform is also intended to support businesses navigating requirements across multiple markets, particularly those exporting food products internationally.
Vapiwala thanked the CII jury, LabelBlind’s team, and its investors for their support and confidence in the company’s technology and business. The award highlights the growing application of artificial intelligence beyond conventional business automation, demonstrating its potential to improve accuracy, efficiency, and standardization in specialized regulatory functions.
For food and beverage companies operating across markets with differing labelling requirements, solutions such as FolSol AI could help simplify increasingly complex compliance processes.
