InterPlas Thailand 2016, an international trade exhibition on plastics will be held from 7 to 10 July 2016 at BITEC, Bangkok, Thailand. Thailand is strategically located towards the centre of ASEAN and has developed strengths in the support industries especially in plastics production from upstream, to downstream industries used in automotive and other applications. This year’s InterPlas Thailand has the theme of total plastics manufacturing solution, to provide total solutions to all visitors to this event. Visitors will see leading technologies from trend leaders in plastic production such as plastic injection hydraulic/ electrical equipment, dual-color injection, in-mould labelling (IML), control system for hot/cold runner and robotics, and medical devices from Thai hydraulics, and producer of
micro devices from Sodick.

InterPlas Thailand 2016 has plenty of opportunities for plastics manufacturers and equipment manufacturers interested in the ASEAN market said key note speaker Tharadol Thongruang, director of Thai Trade Center, New Delhi on the topic of Thai government’s policy to support manufacturing industries for AEC. He described the current trade between India and Thailand as having reached 8,815 million US dollars in 2015 and growing steadily. Total trade between India and the 10- member ASEAN countries have reached 68,313million USdollars. “Opportunity exists for Indian industries in plastics and equipment to take advantage of the vast ASEAN region with different levels of market potentials. Indian brands can easily choose the market it intends to make the greatest impression in – be it among the more mature markets of Thailand, Malaysia or Indonesia; orthe less developed markets of Vietnam, Myanmar and Cambodia. And InterPlas Thailand is a proven medium with numerous matchmaking and networking opportunities within ASEAN countries,” he said.

Suttisak Wilanan, deputy managing director, Reed Tradex Company pointed out that this year the exhibitionis 26% larger than the previous year. “We will be showing technologies from 350 brands from 20 countries in every category of injection, extrusion, blow, mono pigments, for plastic manufacturing from upstream to down stream industries be it packaging, automotive, construction materials, furniture and medical equipment and devices, even including recycling plastics and bioplastics. There will be international pavilions from four countries – Japan, China, Taiwan and Singapore. Last year the show attracted 15,953 visitors.”

RK Aggarwal, president, The All India Plastics Manufactures’ Association (AIPMA) said, “InterPlas Thailand 2016 is an opportunity for Indian manufacturers of equipment and plastics products to attend the event and find  out what opportunities exist. Asia, especially Southeast Asia and the AEC has an expanding economy and a large customer base. It is good for our members to look for new market opportunities in this area. I believe that opportunities exist and that InterPlas Thailand 2016 has much to recommend Indian businessmen.”
