Presto Stantest exhibited its latest range of testing instruments at the IndiaCorr Expo, held from 28 – 30 September at India Expo Center in Greater Noida. The products included bursting strength testers, ECT/RCT testers, box compression testers, tearing testers, and peel strength testers for corrugated box manufacturing.
Such advanced equipment had never been developed in India before, said Gaurav Malhotra, director at Presto Stantest. These technologies, which were earlier available with only German and other European countries, have been developed by Presto in India under the ‘Make in India’ initiative.
Started in 1973, Presto has branches all across India with an impressive global presence. The company is working with major MNCs, including Nestle, Pepsi, Coca-Cola, Britannia, Mother Dairy, Marico, Dabur, Harley Davidson, Flipkart, Amazon, Rayban, Benz, Amway, ITC and P&G.
“They are very quality conscious, and Fortune 500 companies, which put in a lot of efforts in the quality and standardization of the products that they make. We have a very strong bond due to our technical know-how and 200-plus strong team, which is always available to provide technical support for any queries related to their packaging needs, Malhotra said.
Presto is at the forefront of testing technology, he said. In the last 40 years, the growth we are seeing in the packaging industry is completely phenomenal, he said, adding all of Presto’s instruments are Industry 4.0-ready with touchscreen and computerized display.
Accuracy and consistency in testing, which can stop rejections, is critical to the Indian industry, Malhotra said. “We, at Presto, want to ensure Indian companies reach global standards. We have created an ecosystem wherein we conduct training programs under the Presto academy. We have come up with instrumentation for the new generation where they are able to able to test and upskill,” he said.
A lot of transport worthiness testing comes into play as per International Safe Transit Association (ISTA) standards. Presto has developed vibration tables, drop testers and box compression testers as per ISTA standards, which is now the global standard for testing.
“The response from the industry has been phenomenal, very overwhelming. Visitors are coming to our stall and appreciating the technology introduced by Presto at the IndiaCorr Expo,” concluded Malhotra.
