Pune-based Sai Paks India, an offset, flexo and rotogravure printing company, has chosen a Rhyguan SMART-450 slitter-rewinder with Luster 100% inspection camera from Flexo Image Graphics. Formerly called Sai Arts, the company was incorporated as Sai Paks in 1991.
“We started from scratch, merely engaging in manual screen printing at the outset,” recalls Deepan Samarth, managing director of Sai Pak. “Since then we never ever remained idle in upgrading our machine portfolio and took the business to the next level,” he said. Deepan’s two sons— Tejas Samarth and Tushar Samarth – have joined in the business as directors.
The current machine portfolios at the two production facilities of Sai Paks at Chinchwad and Talawde in Pune consist of offset presses from Heidelberg and Shinohara, flexo press from Zonten, rotogravure presses from Sanmach, Mark Andy from FIG, and so on. The Rhyguan SMART-450 is one of the key machines running efficiently for post-press processes. “We opted for the Rhyguan slitting & rewinding machine from FIG for its cost-effectiveness,” Deepan says.
He adds, “The Rhyguan SMART-450 is very economical as we never worried about its ROI. In fact, this 100% inspection slitter-rewinder machine with capacity to re-inspect up to 300m/min is reasonably priced when compared to others in its class. In addition to its cost-effectiveness, the Rhyguan Smart 450 is fully packed with advanced features which every standard slitter-rewinder must have.”
With choices of web widths 330mm, 450mm and 520mm, the Rhyguan Smart-450 is based on advanced servo technology, which provides web control with separately adjustable web tension for the unwind and rewind sections. It can take up a broad range of materials and applications. Deepan says the Rhyguan SMART-450 is not the first machine from FIG at Sai Paks. “Around eight years ago, we brought Pune’s first Mark Andy Performance Series P5 press from FIG along with a Rotoflex slitter-rewinder,” he says.
Sai Paks has been recognised with multiple accolades and awards. “We would like to say a big thank you to FIG for the machines and their after-sales support they provide us. We further look forward to getting more machines and support from them,” says Deepan. FIG supports its customers through a centralized ‘customer support department’ connecting its head office in Delhi and branches in Mumbai and Chennai.
