Hosokawa Alpine reported a better-than-expected response at PlastIndia 2026, as the company continues to strengthen its presence in India’s competitive plastics machinery market, according to Anil Neglur, general manager – sales (India).
The company highlighted technologies from its two core divisions, recycling and blown film, at the exhibition, with both segments drawing interest from visitors. While the product lines operate independently, the combined presence has helped attract a broader customer base across segments.
Hosokawa Alpine’s recycling division serves the rising demand for sustainable plastic processing solutions, while its blown film division targets high-performance packaging applications.
Neglur indicated that both divisions are seeing customer traction in India, reflecting a balanced interest in sustainability-driven solutions as well as advanced film production technologies.
Building market presence amid competition
Over the past two to three years, the Indian market has remained active, although highly competitive. Hosokawa Alpine is focusing on gradually building its presence by establishing reference installations across regions.
The company currently has around five to six blown film lines installed in India and is working to expand this base. Strategic placements of new lines are expected to strengthen visibility and customer confidence in the near term.
Outlook remains steady
Despite competitive pressures, the company views the Indian market as stable and continues to invest in expanding its footprint. The response at PlastIndia is seen as a positive indicator of growing engagement with customers across both recycling and blown film segments.
Hosokawa Alpine aims to scale up installations and deepen its reach in the coming years as demand for both recycling solutions and advanced packaging technologies continues to evolve in India.
