Hyderabad-based flexo trade shop, Digiflex, placed an order for a Flexcel NX Wide 4260 System during Labelexpo India 2024 — adding the larger format option to complement its Flexcel NX Mid System that was installed in 2014.
“We first bought the Flexcel NX in 2014 after extensive research. The Flexcel NX technology stands out globally, offering unmatched quality and consistency. Over the years, we have seen this technology maintain its edge, which reaffirmed our decision to invest further,” said Muralidhar Nalli, CEO of Digiflex.
The latest acquisition involves a large-format machine, with dimensions of 42×60 inches, which will support the company’s move into the flexible packaging segment while maintaining its dominance in the corrugation industry.
“The plates’ performance on the press is essential in what we are experiencing to be a fast-growing flexo market. Flexcel NX Plates are many of our printer and converter customers’ technology of choice. Not only does it address all their productivity, efficiency and quality concerns, but also help cement flexo’s growing status as packaging print production method of choice,” Muralidhar Nalli said.
Andy Yarrow of Miraclon Asia Pacific said, “It is wonderful to partner with Digiflex again. India is such an amazing market for Miraclon as a business. So, to keep growing here is important. But also, to keep growing with the right customers is critical for us as well. I think what everyone appreciates is the quality of the results you get with Miraclon. We are thrilled to be partnering again with Digiflex.”
Hrishikesh Kulkari of Miraclon India said the adoption of flexo technology is on the rise in India, and Digiflex aims to be at the forefront of this transition. While gravure printing still dominates the flexible packaging market, flexo is rapidly gaining ground due to its efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and environmental benefits, Kulkarni added.
“The flexo industry in India has experienced strong growth over the last few years, and the trust our customers place in our team and technology has enabled us to help the market move towards higher adoption of flexo,” Yarrow added.
While Digiflex has traditionally focused on narrow-web and corrugation industries, its entry into flexible packaging aligns with the growing demand for sustainable and high-quality printing solutions.
“If you look at the Hyderabad region, there are a number of CI flexo press and the market is growing. So, we need to support them. We are optimistic about the CI flexo industry,” Muralidhar Nalli said.
