Fujifilm, a global leader in imaging and printing solutions, revealed its latest advancements and innovations at a pre-drupa press event held in Dusseldorf, Germany, from 25-27 March. With its print technologies spanning from analog to digital, including toner to inkjet, printheads, inks, and software, Fujifilm is set to showcase its widest range of products ever at drupa 2024.
The company’s stand at the upcoming drupa exhibition in May, located in Hall 8b / A02, will cover an area of 2,420 square meters.
Senior management executives from Fujifilm’s headquarters in Japan, along with the CEO of Fujifilm Dimatix, Steven Billow, provided a comprehensive overview of the company’s offerings at the pre-drupa event. This included insights into Fujifilm’s graphic communication business, product lineup, corporate technologies, and a sneak peek into its presence at drupa 2024.
Hiroshi Kida, corporate vice-president and executive general manager of Fujifilm’s graphic communication business, highlighted the recent integration of Fujifilm’s graphic communications business division with Fujifilm Business Innovation Corporation. This integration aimed to consolidate strengths and expertise, positioning Fujifilm as the leading solution provider across various printing segments.
Kida stated, “drupa 2024 will be the first major exhibition since we integrated our graphic communication divisions, and we are planning to exhibit a broader range of solutions, including software and digital transformation-related services, along with our core technologies.”
Shiroaki Shimosaka, senior general manager of Fujifilm’s Graphic Communication Division, provided insights into the company’s advancements in dry toner digital press solutions. He talked about the GC-12500, a B2 full-color digital press that offers enhanced productivity and ease of use, along with innovative features to address evolving market demands.
Shimosaka also discussed Fujifilm’s achievements in inkjet technology, including the JetPress series, continuous feed inkjet machines, and the introduction of AquaFuze, a water-based UV technology aimed at expanding application possibilities in the signage and display segment.
Billow of Fujifilm Dymatics presented Fujifilm’s innovations in ink formulations, pigment dispersions, and integrated inkjet solutions. He emphasized the company’s commitment to providing stable and high-quality pigments, enabling advancements in inkjet printing for various applications.
Following is the summary of Fujifilm’s offerings at drupa 2024:
Commercial Area: Visitors can explore the latest insights into the Jet Press 750S and Revoria Press GC12500, along with the debut of the Jet Press 1160CFG, a full-color high-speed continuous feed inkjet printing system. Additionally, Fujifilm will unveil two new mid-range production printers, as well as new processless plates for offset printing and DX solutions for automation and workflow software. The commercial area will also feature demonstrations of Fujifilm photographic products and third-party finishing equipment, showcasing the versatility of Fujifilm technology.
Industrial Area: In this area, the company will showcase the Jet Press FP790, a water-based inkjet digital press for flexible packaging printing, along with new automation options for hybrid wide-format machines. Fujifilm’s Acuity range of wide-format inkjet printers will be showcased, along with case studies across various applications, including direct mail, transactional printing, labels, and embellishments. The company will introduce the Aquafuze technology, a new water-based ink that combines the functionalities of UV and solvent inks while being environmentally friendly. The RxD Series, a pigment dispersion with high stability, will be featured, along with new print head products enabling versatility across applications.
Fujifilm Group will also introduce new environmental strategies, including digital on-demand printing, carbon-neutral production facilities, and recycling initiatives.
