Grafica Rex based in Nova Candelária, Brazil has been focussing on the development and production of folding carton and corrugated packages as its core business since 1979. Aiming to expand its presence in the local market share, the company opened their distribution centre in São Paulo in 2013.
At drupa 2016, Grafica Rex invested in a Paktek one-piece and multiple-piece folder-gluer, KS-1600M. The compact measurement of KS-1600M is capable of handling cartons with maximum width of 3,200 mm and fits into a small working space. Along with Paktek’s self-developed automatic 2-gun cold glue and 2-gun hot melt injection system, KS-1600M offers instant gluing and permanent adhesion and is free from re-opening issues under extreme temperature change during global transportation.
In addition to RSC cartons, KS-1600M can make irregular-shaped cartons made of duplex boards and 5-ply corrugated board in single-piece or two-piece jointing works. The KS-1600M comes with options for electro-hydraulic lifting tables, pressing unit and counter delivery. Bigger models like KS-2100M are also available to make big cartons up to 4,200 mm.
The installation will take place in coming days.
