Royal Coat, a distributor representing European manufacturers across South Asia, has announced its participation in the 13th Elite Plus Specialty Films & Flexible Packaging Global Summit scheduled for 26-27 August 2026 in Mumbai.

The company aims to leverage the global industry platform to engage directly with flexible packaging converters, commercial printers, and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), while highlighting technology solutions tailored for the regional market.

According to Sunil N Talpade of Royal Coat, participation in the summit is driven by a commitment to strengthen relationships across the converter ecosystem while gaining operational feedback. He notes that beyond showcasing new technologies, the company’s focus remains on listening closely to the day-to-day challenges faced by converters to ensure European engineering aligns directly with local market requirements.

At the center of Royal Coat’s presentation is a portfolio of precision flexographic and digital finishing solutions. The showcase includes Germany-based Zecher’s premium anilox sleeves and rolls, featuring advanced engraving technologies such as SteppedHex and High Ink Transfer (HIT), along with Cell Polish Treatment (CPT) designed to optimize cell structure and ink transfer efficiency.

Complementing these are Polywest’s sleeve and adapter systems, engineered with glass fiber barrier layers for dimensional stability and mechanical resistance, alongside lightweight nanotechnology designed to increase sleeve longevity.

To improve prepress accuracy and process control, Royal Coat is introducing Heaford’s video plate mounting systems alongside InkSpec’s viscosity management technology. The InkSpec viscometer utilizes Acoustic Suspension technology to deliver fluid viscosity measurement and control. Because the system remains unaffected by fluid flow rate, pump pulsations, press vibrations, or micro-foaming, it enables consistent coating, adhesive, and ink application, directly lowering operational costs while elevating output quality across press runs.

In digital finishing and converting, Royal Coat will feature Prati’s mid-web digital converting lines and slitter rewinders. Designed around a single high-performance modular digital platform, systems such as the Digifast20000 integrate finishing capabilities for pressure-sensitive labels (PSL), in-mold labeling (IML), shrink sleeves, and wrap-around applications, offering flexible packaging converters an adaptable approach to short-run digital finishing.

Addressing sustainability goals, Talpade said, “Environmental strategy must align with resource efficiency across the entire product lifecycle. Highly accurate anilox engravings reduce ink consumption and startup waste, directly reducing material consumption. Coupled with modular digital converting platforms, these tools allow print operations to maintain lower carbon footprints and minimize scrap rates.”

Looking toward broader market shifts in India, Talpade identified several key trends influencing flexible packaging and converting operations. Converter demand is shifting rapidly toward recyclable and mono-material substrates, higher visual print quality, automated workflow controls, improved overall equipment efficiency (OEE), and the ability to process shorter, more frequent production runs seamlessly.

True packaging innovation relies on foundational precision. He noted that every high-quality print begins long before ink ever meets the substrate—starting with precision components like the anilox roll and finishing with cost-efficient, easy-to-operate digital platforms that drive long-term sustainability and operational growth,” he concludes.
