Mumbai-based SP Ultraflex promoted its new Maxislit RL slitter at the 10th Speciality Films & Flexible Packaging Global Summit 2023 held at the Jio Convention Centre in Mumbai on 31 August and 1 September. The Maxislit RL is a user-friendly machine that allows access to all sections of the machine very easily, is efficient and can process a variety of substrates, including paper, aluminum foil, and hygiene films.

Speaking to Packaging South Asia on the sidelines of the event, the company’s CEO Biku Kohli said, “We are excited to talk about the Maxislit RL at the Speciality Films & Flexible Packaging Global Summit. This is a major milestone for our company and we are confident the Maxislit RL will be a success. The machine is designed to be user-friendly and efficient, making it ideal for a wide range of customers.”

“The last time, we did something revolutionary was in 2014 – when we launched the dual turret range of slitter rewinders in the country. We have gone on to develop five different models of these dual turret slitter rewinders and sold over 60 of these machines in all these years. So, after a long gap, we are launching a brand-new model, the Maxislit RL. The tagline of the machine is – Looks like a beauty, runs like a beast,” Kohli said.

The Maxislit RL has generated much interest from customers and SP Ultraflex has already built the first machine. “With Maxislit RL, operators have access to all sections of the machine. They get simultaneous visibility of both the rewind sections. To sum up, the Maxislit RL offers the user-friendliness of a standard machine but performs way above the standard slitter. The Maxislit RL boasts a very different technology – center cum surface technology. With slight customization, customers can process a variety of substrates such as paper, aluminum foil, hygiene films, and many other substrates on this machine,” Kohli said.

“We have a line-up of customers willing to buy this machine. We are conducting trials and very soon, the first machine will be sold to one of them,” Kohli said.

SP Ultraflex a regular at the Speciality Films Summit

SP Ultraflex has been a regular at the Speciality Films & Flexible Packaging Global Summit – attending the event for a number of years. “We love this event. It is an annual opportunity to meet the industry stakeholders and update them on what SP Ultraflex has been doing for the past year. We look forward to the next edition,” Kohli said.
