At Elite Plus Mumbai, Jupiter Laminators, a leading name in the flexible packaging industry, will focus on sustainability, showcasing new developments in eco-friendly solutions that reflect its R&D efforts in mono-material structures and recycled content such as rPET and rPE.
The 12th Speciality Films & Flexible Packaging Global Business Summit & Exhibition 2025 takes place from 3-4 September 2025 at the Jio World Convention Centre, Mumbai.
According to Barun Banerjee, CTO, Jupiter Laminators, Elite Plus is a valuable forum to explore new developments in packaging technology. He emphasized the importance of such platforms in fostering discussions around innovation and sustainable solutions.
“Our expectation this year is to focus more on future-oriented developments in packaging,” he said. “I would expect more forward-looking solutions from a packaging development point of view. I am looking forward to seeing how, together, we can bring value to business and make the flexible packaging industry grow with more innovative and technological solutions.”
Banerjee said that the industry is witnessing growing interest in sustainable materials, with global relevance and demand increasing rapidly. “This year we anticipate the implementation of sustainable solutions across global markets and the increasing role of traceability through AI and IoT integration,” he said.
Acknowledging that the market is increasingly seeking cost-effective solutions without compromising on sustainability or performance, he said, “The market expects affordable packaging solutions that meet both functional and environmental criteria,” Banerjee noted.
Compared to the previous year, the flexible packaging sector has seen modest single-digit growth, according to Banerjee. However, he remains optimistic about the segment’s potential. “There is still a huge scope to grow, especially if the industry can speed up the development and launch of recyclable mono-materials and structures using recycled content. Innovation and speed-to-market will be key drivers in capturing new opportunities.”
Banerjee believes summits such as the Elite Plus Conference should facilitate more engagement at the leadership level. “It would be beneficial if the event brings together CEOs of leading brands for in-depth discussions on the future of flexible packaging, including sustainable structure implementation roadmaps.”
