Kapoor Imaging, a South India-based supplier of printing consumables, debuted at Loupe India 2026, highlighting its growing portfolio of flexographic prepress solutions as it looks to expand beyond its established offset printing business. On the show floor, it is showcasing its Topaz CtP equipment and flexographic plates.
The 50-year-old printing consumables supplier is strengthening its presence in the packaging segment with flexo plates and CtP systems, with plans to further expand into packaging-related chemicals and solvents.
Founded in 1976, the company has built a nationwide presence with more than a dozen branches across India, supplying consumables such as printing plates, blankets and pressroom chemicals to the offset printing industry. Speaking at the Kapoor Imaging stand, Sunil Kapoor highlighted the company’s strategy of leveraging its existing distribution network and customer relationships to enter the growing packaging segment.
“We are a 50-year-old company that started in 1976, and we mainly supply consumables to the offset printing industry. We have around 14 branches all over India, so we cover pan-India,” Kapoor said.
The company’s recent expansion into packaging focuses on flexographic prepress, particularly flexo plates and Flexo CtP systems. Kapoor confirmed that the company has already supplied three Flexo CtP machines, with installations at Tirupur and Ahmedabad. Another machine has also arrived in India and is awaiting installation.
Kapoor Imaging operates through an OEM model for its Flexo CtP imaging machines and sees packaging as a natural extension of its existing business, given the overlap in its customer base and the growing number of commercial printers diversifying into packaging.
“Packaging is actually a very fast-growing market. Most of the commercial printers have diversified into packaging. Many of them are doing offset printing for both segments, and many are also diversifying to flexo labels and packaging,” Kapoor observed.
At Loupe India, the company highlighted its flexo plates and CtP solutions. It had also planned to display a CtP imaging output device at the exhibition, but shipping delays from China prevented its in-time arrival. The consignment reached Chennai just the day before our interaction at Loupe India, making it impossible to transport the machine to the exhibition venue.
Looking ahead, Kapoor Imaging is exploring opportunities to manufacture or retail cleaning solvents and other chemicals for the packaging industry. The company already operates a chemicals manufacturing facility in Chennai for its offset business and has additional land available for potential expansion. “We want to have the whole package, basically. Like in offset, we have developed our business over several years; and we want to develop the same thing here in labels and packaging,” Kapoor said.
Despite missing the opportunity to demonstrate its machine at the show, the company reported encouraging visitor footfall and business enquiries in its first Loupe India appearance.
