Leonhard Kurz, the embellishing specialist known for its striking metallic effects and decoration of packaging and labels, presented an update to its innovative 3D design software Dreamcomposer at Labelexpo in Barcelona. The new release included the launch of a free basic version of the digital tool, aimed at designers, brand managers, and creative professionals who want to plan, test, and visualize their visions quickly, professionally, with realistic feedback. The stand was full excellent samples of products and labels with metallic and embossing effects aimed at delivering shelf-impact and enhancing the luxury feel to products beverage and other products.  

The Dreamcomposer is a 3D design software that brings real embellishing effects to life virtually. Whether labels, packaging, or other embellished products, users can design their projects using Kurz transfer products easily, preview and check the effects in real time, and present their designs effectively. The software makes it possible to experience print embellishment digitally before production samples are created, saving time, costs, and resources in the design process and simplifying communication with customers, printers, and production partners.

Using the new free version of Dreamcomposer enables users to work on up to five projects at the same time. They have access to the complete range of Kurz transfer embellishments – ideal for planning smaller packaging, branding, or design projects that can be shared quickly and easily via an online link. The free version is aimed at creative professionals who want to gain initial experience with embellishing effects or efficiently design individual projects – without license costs or technical onboarding. Editor of Indian Printer and Publisher since 1979 and Packaging South Asia since 2007. Trained as an offset printer and IBM 360 computer programmer. Active in the movement to implement Indian scripts for computer-aided typesetting. Worked as a consultant and trainer to the Indian print and newspaper industry. Visiting faculty of IDC at IIT Powai in the 1990s. Also founder of IPP Services, Training and Research and has worked as its principal industry researcher since 1999. Author of book: Miracle of Indian Democracy. Elected vice-president of the International Packaging Press Organization in May 2023. One of the judges for Packaging Sustainability Awards for three consecutive years, 2024, 2025 and 2026.
