Markem-Imaje, a global leader in product identification, packaging intelligence, and connected product solutions, showcased a wide range of its technologies at PackVision Expo 2025 in Pune. The technologies included continuous inkjet (CIJ) printers, laser marking machines, and thermal transfer overprinters.
One of the highlights was a live demonstration of Markem-Imaje’s GS1 Digital Link integration and CoLOS software suite. These tools help streamline product identification and traceability, offering a cohesive approach to coding, marking, and data management. The solutions ensure consistent quality, improve supply chain transparency, and comply with global traceability standards.
Visitors witnessed a live demonstration of the continuous inkjet (CIJ) printers and explored a range of parts, products, and options related to Markem-Imaje’s coding equipment. These include essential consumables such as inks and solvents, critical spare parts for regular maintenance, and enhancement options that extend printer functionality and adaptability to industrial environments.
A key attraction was the recently launched 9712 bi-jet coder—a CIJ printer for manufacturers requiring large or complex codes, including 2D barcodes and detailed product information. According to the company spokesperson, the 9712 can do the job of two printers in one unit. This not only reduces initial capital investment (CAPEX) but also helps manufacturers cut down on operating expenses (OPEX) over time.
The 9712’s bi-jet technology enables it to print twice the data or code twice as fast, depending on production needs. Despite the compact size of its printhead, the printer delivers superior code clarity and consistency. This high-speed, high-capacity coding solution is particularly well-suited for industries with demanding production lines and strict regulatory compliance needs.
In a conversation at the expo, the Markem-Imaje representative acknowledged the competitive nature of the coding and marking industry and expressed confidence in their product portfolio.
“We offer a wide variety of models and solutions that meet specific application requirements,” she said. “Compared to many of our competitors, our range is broader and more adaptable, ensuring that we can provide the right technology for every customer’s unique challenge.”
The PackVision Expo served as a strategic platform for engaging both existing clients and prospective customers. The spokesperson emphasized the value of face-to-face interactions at such events. “Personally, I have invited many of our existing customers, and even potential ones, to visit our stall and experience first-hand the solutions and technologies we provide. It’s a great platform to demonstrate our offerings.”
