The company demonstrated live its print and apply machine ALX 924 and labelling system ALS 204. Both these machines were integrated into one unit for demonstration. ALX 924 has a print speed of 400 mm/sec and a resolution of 300 dpi. It allows the systems to label products in a 1:1 print and apply mode. The ALS 204 labelling machine allows labels between 10 and 106 mm width to be applied on the top of products. The maximum apply speed is 40 m/min.

The XLP 504 label printer is an industrial all-round label printer for printing barcodes, fonts and graphics for medium label volume applications. It was launched at the recently concluded Pack Expo International and was shown in India at Labelexpo for the first time. The XLP 504 can print 1,000 labels in less than eight minutes. Customers can choose between models with 203, 300 or 600 dpi print resolution. The 600-dpi print resolution enables printing of even tiny fonts, barcodes and symbols.

The fourth product on display was the 64-04 table-top label printer. The 64-series printers are dedicated to printing barcodes, fonts and logos on any label material. The 64-series family includes four models with different print width (in inches): 64-04, 64-05, 64-06 and 64-08.

The Covid-19 pandemic led to the country-wide lockdown on 25 March 2020. It will be two years tomorrow as I write this. What have we learned in this time? Maybe the meaning of resilience since small companies like us have had to rely on our resources and the forbearance of our employees as we have struggled to produce our trade platforms.

The print and packaging industries have been fortunate, although the commercial printing industry is still to recover. We have learned more about the digital transformation that affects commercial printing and packaging. Ultimately digital will help print grow in a country where we are still far behind in our paper and print consumption and where digital is a leapfrog technology that will only increase the demand for print in the foreseeable future.

Web analytics show that we now have readership in North America and Europe amongst the 90 countries where our five platforms reach. Our traffic which more than doubled in 2020, has at times gone up by another 50% in 2021. And advertising which had fallen to pieces in 2020 and 2021, has started its return since January 2022.
