India’s evolving market landscape
India stands as the largest producer of milk and spices, and is among the leading global producers of fruits, vegetables, poultry, and meat. Its diverse agro-climatic conditions provide a strong foundation for a vast and varied raw material base, making it highly suitable for food processing industries. With rapid urbanization and evolving consumption patterns, the country’s food consumption is projected to reach US$ 1.2 trillion by 2025–26, reinforcing its position as one of the most dynamic and promising markets in the world.
India’s food ingredients sector is undergoing significant transformation. Driven by rising disposable incomes and health-conscious consumption, the market is projected to grow at a CAGR of 6.7%, with the specialty ingredients segment alone expected to reach US$ 8.3 billion by 2033. The demand for clean-label, plant-based, and functional ingredients is shaping product development and competitive positioning across the F&B landscape.
On the other hand, India’s processing and packaging sector is evolving from cost-centric solutions to value-based innovation. Sustainability, automation, and regulatory compliance are redefining industry standards. With over 75% of global buyers willing to pay a premium for sustainable packaging, and 68% expressing concern about plastic waste, smart, traceable, and eco-friendly packaging is becoming a key differentiator. The packaging market is projected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of nearly 11 percent, reaching over US$ 140 billion by 2029.
The event will also highlight India’s ongoing efforts in sustainable sourcing, clean-label ingredient adoption, and food security. The prestigious Fi India Awards will return to celebrate excellence, innovation, and leadership across the food and beverage ingredients ecosystem.
