Sona Papers stall in Pamex 2024

Sona Papers, a Delhi-based paper provider, adopted an innovative approach in a bid to attract visitors at Pamex 2024 in Mumbai. It installed trumpets with the tagline of ‘Blow your own trumpet’ at its three-sided open stall. Even the stands where its products were displayed were in the shape of trumpets.

Sona Papers, which started with commodity papers, moved its entire portfolio to fine papers in the year 2000 after seeing its growth and potential. With a diverse range of specialty papers in the portfolio, Sona Papers offers both luxury and sustainable packaging solutions.

Stating that ‘packaging’ is the talk of the town, Anup Verma, marketing head, of Sona Papers, said, “Packaging is the next game. With our FSC-certified papers, we focus on the luxury domain, where there is a huge demand for rigid boxes, carry bags and sustainable packaging. We don’t want to get into the masses.”

The company, which highlighted rigid boxes and paper carry bags in its stand, is working closely with brands such as H&M, Zara, and others.

At the exhibition, most visitors at Sona Papers’ stand came to inquire about packaging and not commercial printing, Verma said. “Although the commercial printing industry still has its presence, in this era of packaging, the maximum inquiries were for packaging. Some of our potential customers at our stand were there for packaging and not commercial printing.”
