At this year’s interpack, Trapo is letting the robots dance at booth A65 in hall 12. In a live performance, the system integrator from Gescher-Hochmoor in Westphalia will demonstrate crate and carton handling to perfection – and recommends itself as a high-performance, service-oriented automation partner with an extensive in-house product portfolio for the packaging industry.
For more than half a century, the name Trapo has stood for the highest quality, enormous innovative strength and in-depth specialist knowledge in the fields of conveyor technology, robotics and automation. Regardless of whether standard components from the modular system are to be integrated into an existing solution, complete, highly efficient process lines are to be designed, or ambitious, specific custom solutions are to be developed – the experts from Münsterland region meet the most diverse automation requirements in production and intralogistics. Trapo’s pioneering products and solutions are manufactured 100% in-house and are always optimally tailored to the needs of end customers, system suppliers and machine builders.Â
A grand stage, a powerful production, a smart conductor
At its 195 m² exhibition stand in Düsseldorf, the globally successful medium-sized company is exemplarily focusing on the handling of reusable crates and cartons weighing up to 35 kg. The system is particularly impressive due to the synchronous interaction of two articulated-arm robots, which, thanks to intelligent control, harmonize perfectly with the conveyor technology and autonomous robot (AMR) for pallet handling.Â
The two articulated robots are specifically a cobot from the TCP series and a high-speed robot system from Trapo. Whilst the cobot is equipped with a low-maintenance suction gripper, the actor from the powerful HRS series operates with a fork gripper. The two systems alternately palletize and depalletize the crates and boxes fed onto longitudinal and transverse pallets – a challenging task that requires the highest precision when stacking the crates precisely into one another. In the live application, the switching between full and empty pallets is handled by a flexible robot, which also acts autonomously and in the smallest of spaces.Â
Intelligent process technology with added value
What sounds and looks so simple is the result of excellent development work, many years of project expertise and attention to even the smallest detail: Trapo’s successful automation concepts are based not only on high-performance, consistently reliable and at the same time low-maintenance system components, but also in particular on excellent gripper technology. Trapo grippers are always precisely tailored to corresponding robots, specific characteristics of the objects and desired performance of the entire line.Â
From conveyor technology right through to AMR and robots, all line modules are connected via Trapo Intelligent Management. Acting as the ‘digital backbone’, this smart software tool coordinates processes, supports monitoring and records process data in real time. This makes key performance indicators for plant availability (OEE) visible, process statuses transparent and optimization potential systematically accessible. Sophisticated sensors and control logic ensure a regulated, efficient, economical and, above all, safe process.
Trapo Experience Hubs with practical focus
The entire team is available to provide non-binding initial information as well as detailed technical discussions in the so-called Trapo Experience Hubs – the exclusive lounges at the exhibition stand. Using interactive presentations, interested trade visitors will receive well-founded – and highly personalised – answers to all questions relating the key topics of automation.
