The Bengaluru-based Valco Melton India, part of the US-based Valco Melton, highlighted its extensive product portfolio at Packvision Expo Pune. Valco Melton is known for manufacturing dispensing machinery and quality assurance systems for adhesives. At the expo, Ravi Kiran, managing director of Valco Melton India, highlighting the company’s diverse range of products, said, “We have a wide range of products and cater to a wide range of industries.”
This broad spectrum of solutions positions Valco Melton as a versatile player in the market, capable of meeting the varied demands of different sectors. He highlighted the company’s advanced inspection system as well, “The inspection system ensures that the adhesive is present on the box and in the right place. This guarantees that no unglued boxes reach the customers or the market.”
Valco Melton’s product portfolio spans multiple industries, with adhesives and inspection systems being critical to their growth. Kiran said the labels and folding carton industry is experiencing exponential growth, driving Valco Melton to expand its focus on the packaging sector. “The growth of our company largely depends on the industries we cater to. Every industry needs products such as adhesives and inspection systems,” he said.
Sustainability is a core focus for Valco Melton. Kiran believes the company has positioned itself well in this regard, especially within the packaging industry, which is increasingly moving towards sustainable solutions. “The idea is to move away from plastics and shift toward more paper-type materials,” he explained. Valco Melton is aiding this transition by providing solutions that reduce the use of plastics, aligning with the industry’s sustainability goals.
One of the major ways Valco Melton contributes to sustainability is by optimizing glue dispensing systems. The company’s team works closely with customers to ensure that the adhesive application is efficient, reduces waste, and enhances performance. “It’s about extending and explaining the knowledge more than creating new products,” Kiran noted. This approach not only improves efficiency but also supports the broader objective of sustainability.
Kiran provided a specific example of the company’s sustainability efforts in the area of palletizing. Traditionally, shrink wrap is used extensively to secure pallets. Valco Melton is working on eliminating the need for shrink wrap by applying skid resistance to boxes, thereby enhancing stability without the use of additional plastic materials.
