At Printpack 2025, slated from 1 to 5 February 2025 at the India Expo Centre in Greater Noida, Nippon Color – a supplier of pre-press systems, CTP plates, digital printing, and finishing solutions — will officially launch Oyang’s Pixelprint HD series digital inkjet book printing machines, a solution for publishing on-demand.
The machine offers both monochrome and full-color printing options, allowing customers to choose between a width of 440mm for printing 2-ups of A4 sheets and a width of 660mm for printing 3-ups of A4 sheets.
The Oyang’s Pixelprint HD Series was developed in 2021 in China and has since gained significant traction, with over 200 installations in the market. For the Indian market, Nippon Color recently signed an exclusive distributorship agreement with Oyang. The first machine in India is set to be installed immediately after Printpack in February 2025.
Akshat Pardiwala, COO, Nippon Color, “We are excited to showcase this innovative product and its potential to transform the publishing industry. Due to the machine’s footprint and sensitivity of the Oyang’s Pixelprint HD series digital inkjet book printing machines to dust, we will not run live demonstrations at the show. However, we are committed to providing customers with an in-depth understanding of the machine’s capabilities.”
The team will conduct open houses at customer sites, which will serve as demo centers in India. Customers will have the opportunity to witness live demonstrations of the machine’s performance and can print their files to evaluate the quality firsthand. “This approach ensures a controlled environment for showcasing the machine’s capabilities while maintaining its optimal performance and condition,” he said.
Explaining the machine’s capabilities Pardiwala said, “The Oyang’s Pixelprint HD Series addresses the challenges of printing books on-demand, even in quantities as low as one book. With its high productivity, the machine can print over 50,000 A4 sheets per hour, making it ideal for both short and medium print runs.” According to him, it is specifically designed to meet the growing demand for efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality book printing, changing the way books are printed on demand.
The key features of the machine include-
- Equipped with HD printheads to deliver superior print quality at 600 x 1200 dpi resolution as standard.
- Printheads can print two colors simultaneously, allowing customers to invest in a dual-color machine at the cost of a single-color machine.
- Uses control boards from Meteor UK, a trusted leader in inkjet printing technology, ensuring reliability and precision.
- Equipped with Harlequin RIP software, enabling fast and efficient file ripping without compromising print speed or quality.
CTP machine and digital label finisher
Nippon Color will showcase two more products at the exhibition — the latest Cron CTP machine and the VD330 digital label finisher. The Cron CTP machine provides users with the lowest cost of operation due to its individual laser diode technology. The new G+ model is a new enhanced version of Cron’s popular model G that benefits from adding automation features, improved stability, and increased flexibility to add autoloaders, punching, and multi-direction transport bridges.
Launched this year, the VD330 digital label finisher was also highlighted at Labelexpo 2024. It is an all-in-one digital label finisher that uses blades to finish labels and eliminates the need to purchase dies/punches for cutting. Nippon Color has already installed 11 finishers with 4 more already in transit to India.
