Kolkata-based gravure cylinder manufacturer Rotomaxx India has strategically invested in two IntaGlios rotogravure cylinder engraving machines, back-to-back. The two feature-rich flagship IntaGlios machines, installed one after another at Rotomaxx India within nine months, were supplied and installed by Monotech Systems.
Rotomaxx India—a new subsidiary of Ganga Cylinder Process—is new in the market, emerging ambitiously to serve packaging companies with best-in-class gravure cylinders. Saugata Banerjee, along with two partners, Biswajit Majumdar and Deepak Kumar Shaw, take care of the subsidiary.
“My father Shri Basudeb Banerjee, who has 24 years of experience in the industry, established the Ganga Cylinder Process. Following in his footsteps, we unveiled Rotomaxx India as a new vertical to manufacture gravure cylinders,” says Saugata.
“It has been barely nine months since we first opened Rotomaxx India with the first IntaGlios to supply gravure cylinders to our clients, who are a host of packaging companies dotted across the length and breadth of West Bengal and adjoining Odisha, Assam, Bihar, Jharkhand and Sikkim.” He adds, “When demands from our clients were immeasurably flooded, we eventually needed to cope with it, so was why we brought home the second IntaGlios machine from Monotech Systems,” he says.
A heavy-duty gravure cylinder manufacturing machine with German head, IntaGlios is a brand of Monotech. They engrave on helical or polar line methods at the maximum speed of R70: 0.32sqm/hr. It engraves cylinders up to 1400mm length (and optionally up to 3200mm).
“The IntaGlios machine has a lot of advantageous features and technological advancements. After all, it’s our milestone transition to automatic (digital) gravure cylinder making process,” remarks Saugata, adding, “The two new IntaGlios machines at our facility now propel us to the next level of high-quality gravure cylinder engraving.”
Saugata continues, “Robustness in design and highly user friendly, IntaGlios gravure cylinder engraver offers high-quality strokes that in turn improve the appearance of fine texts and graphics. Even the machines’ workflow software is perfect to sharpen the lettering.
Two IntaGlios machines trigger Rotomaxx India to fulfil every bit of demands from its clients. “Now that we are running two IntaGlios gravure cylinder manufacturing machines, our capacity is upgraded to production of around 60-70 cylinders per day in two shifts. With this capacity, we would never let our clients down when it comes to urgent delivery, any time, at any given circumstance. They (clients) are now entitled to get exactly what they want, on time, whether in West Bengal or anywhere else,” says Saugata.
Jai Singh, product manager for IntaGlios, says there is overwhelming response for the product, both domestically and internationally, including markets such as Nepal.
“Delighted to announce that we have surpassed 30 installations with several orders pending. Our aim is to achieve a total installation of intaGlios, machines ranging from 40 to 45 by the end of this fiscal year.”
Operating in an 8,000sqft. production facility, backed by a staff of 30 well-experienced professionals, Rotomaxx India has strong manpower and a machine portfolio comprising the two IntaGlios. “We are grateful to Monotech Systems for IntaGlios and their unconditional support,” concludes Saugata.
