Wraptech Machines, a leading manufacturer of vertical FFS machines, heat sealers, auger fillers and specialized filling systems, registered a strong presence at Intelpack 2015 in Mumbai in April. The company showcased multiple machines covering various packaging needs.

The highlight was the latest version of the Wraptech Thunder, the company’s high-speed continuous motion bagging machine with an output for dry runs at 160 packs a minute. With new software and motion control technology the machine provides various dosing options – multihead weigh filler, servo-driven auger filler and volumetric telescopic cup  filler.

Wraptech Thunder is aimed at meeting the demands of industries such as food, spices, pharmaceuticals and seeds. The machine was developed last year and it has already been installed at United Biscuits in Lagos, Nigeria. “The main factor behind developing this latest version of Thunder was to show the industry our capabilities. We wanted to tell the industry that this kind of technology can be successfully offered by an Indian manufacturer,” said Ashish Meghani, managing director of Wraptech.

Also displayed was the WH 250 horizontal flow wrap machine with rotary top loading of film widths of 250 mm and an output speed between 40 to 200 packs a minute. It can be used to pack solid regular objects such as monocakes, bread, biscuits, candies, snow cakes, chocolates, soaps, and detergents.

Talking about the response at the event, Meghani said that the first day saw few visitors but numbers picked up from the second day onwards. “In India we currently have too many events and exhibitions, which need to be reduced to keep the level of interest among visitors high. If you see developed markets there are one or two events in a year. In India too there should be a consolidation. There could be one big event in North India and one big event in Mumbai for West and South Indian customers. Right now there are too many events,” he stressed.
