Uflex achieves low ink GSM with direct laser engraving
The Uflex cylinder engraving division has, after three years of intense R&D, been able to optimize cell structures of laser-engraved rotogravure cylinders to an extent that can actually reduce ink consumption by about 20-25% than what can be achieved using electro-mechanically engraved cylinders for similar image quality. In fact, the print quality achieved with the higher definition laser-engraved cylinders is enhanced in comparison to print using electro-mechanically engraved cylinders.
PackPlus expected to get more than 20,000 visitors
PackPlus, which will be held from 3-6 August 2017 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, will see 375 companies spread across six halls over an area of 16,000 square meters. The event is expected to receive more than 20,000 visitors.

The aseptic paper board and laminated paper and foil solutions for liquid and food packaging continue to grow in product segments ranging from milk to alcoholic beverages. The main provider of both laminates and filling and sealing solutions in this segment has been Tetra Pak, which is practically the inventor of this category of packaging. While some forms of aseptic liquid packaging such as gable top cartons require a cold chain, the outstanding feature of the Tetra Pak has been its ability to significantly prolong the shelf life of food and beverage products without refrigeration.

Paras Printpack – a startup that deals mainly with startups
Paras Printpack is about two-and-a-half years old, having started operations in July 2014. Prior to its launch, the founder, Pradeep Jain, was partner in a company called Paras Packaging, for over 17 years where he mainly did job work for companies like Paharpur, Uflex and a few others. The job work involved mainly pouch-making, which brought in decent profits over the years and provided him the necessary financial stability to launch his own startup. Today, he focuses primarily on the food & beverages, pharmaceutical, confectionery, home care, personal care and automobile industries.
Uflex plays game-changer
The Uflex Films Business team undertook extensive R&D activities for almost two years to come up with a special polyester film that obviates the problems posed by Bi-axially Oriented Polyamide (BON) and Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC). The special polyester film has been designed to replace the top and bottom substrates of the conventional cold formed Alu – Alu laminate to a whole new structure comprising 36 micron special polyester/50 micron soft aluminum foil/36 micron special polyester.
Uflex showcases its holographic range at PrintPack 2017
Uflex, one of India’s largest end-to-end flexible packaging solutions company, showcased its embossing cylinders at the India International Leather Fair (IILF) in Chennai. Held from 31 January to 3 February 2017 at the Chennai Trade Centre, the leather show was attended by an overwhelming number of manufacturers, retailers, designers as well as exporters from around the world.
