Esko, a global supplier of integrated solutions for the packaging, labels, sign and display, commercial printing and publishing industries, displayed a range of software and series of Kongsberg hardware table at the PrintPack exhibition. Arnab Maiti, sales director – South Asia, Esko said, “We have software for all kinds of packaging and printing works, be it offset, flexo or gravure, which we displayed at our stand. In addition, we also marked our presence at the show through our partners like Technova and Malhotra Graphics. While Technova is primarily working in the folding carton segment and displayed the XE10 Kongsberg table and software at the show,  Malhotra Graphics is one of our dealers for the flexo graphics segment.”

Navi Mumbai-based Rukson Packaging has undergone a major transformation from offset printer to becoming a complete packaging solutions provider. Recently, the company equipped its prepress unit with Esko's Kongsberg XE10 sample maker and Esko’s prepress workflow. Rukson specializes in met-pet folding box cartons and its product mix includes a large share of cartons for the pharmaceutical segment.

Esko has given its 3D packaging design software Studio 16 a makeover with the launch of Esko Studio 16, a part of what it calls Esko Software Platform 16. Esko Studio’s tools allow 3D packaging with a virtual reality type of animated rendering on 2D screens. This kind of animated feedback allows the substitution of a variety of materials and decoration effects  to be able to see them in virtual store simulations in various placements and lighting conditions. Designers can virtually hold the pack in their hands.

At IndiaCorr Expo – SinoCorrugated 2016 scheduled for 8 to 10 September 2016 at Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon East in Mumbai, India, Esko is showcasing their latest Kongsberg X24 cutting table at Stand A60. The Kongsberg X series is a cutting table that offers value, reliability, precision and ease of use at an attractive investment level for companies in carton and corrugation that produce samples, packaging, displays and mock-ups, and other packaging-specific markets looking to complement their offerings with productive digital finishing. Esko will demonstrate the Kongsberg X24 cutting table for carton and corrugation samplemaking, short-run production of mock-ups and other packaging applications. The Kongsberg X series sign cutting machine comes with a wide range of specialty tools, which offer speed, power and flexibility to automatically handle a wide variety of materials, such as corrugated, folding carton, solid board, foam, coating blankets, wood and a long list of plastics.

A new software and engineering service for labels and packaging presses will be on show at Labelexpo Americas (Stand 6455) following the success of its introduction at drupa by Global Graphics Software. Called Fundamentals, the service provides inkjet press manufacturers with a single source for the key software components and engineering know how that are essential to building a digital front end to drive a press. The goal is to help reduce time to market and engineering costs by breaking through the common barriers that prevent manufacturers from getting out to market on time and on budget.

At drupa 2016, GlobalVision, a world leader in the development of innovative proofreading technologies demonstrated for the first time the integration of its Quality Control Platform into Esko’s Automation Engine 16. Embedding GlobalVision’s Quality Control Platform within Esko’s Automation Engine provides an all-in-one quality assurance solution that runs as a background process and results in an annotated and viewable design file within Automation Engine. This further enables rapid and systematic review of all detected packaging and labelling errors throughout the workflow, from upstream design to print.
