Bobst open house at Concord Printing
Speaking about the recent installation of the Vision Fold 110, Concord Printing’s owner Arshaad Memon says, “When nothing matters more than the quality of your final product, you need the equipment that can deliver quality and consistency. Earlier, with the carton flap pasted manually, we could only finish around 8,000 lock-bottom cartons in a day, while the customer used to face the pasting issue of boxes. No matter how good the print quality or timely delivery, this manual pasting spoiled the job for the customer.
Canon woos visitors with packaging printing at PrintPack 2017
At PrintPack India 2017, Canon launched ten new digital presses—its biggest ever at any Indian exhibition till date. The ten products include the 12-color imageProGraf Pro-520 and imageProGraf Pro-540, 8-color imageProGraf Pro-540S, 5-color imageProGraf 671E and imageProGraf Pro-560S in the imageProGraf Pro series; the Océ ColorWave 700; the imagePress C850, imagePress C750 and imagePress C650 digital color production presses; and the imagePress C8000VP, based on the highly popular imagePress C10000VP.
Rukson installs Novacut 106 and Expertfold 80
Mumbai-based Rukson Packaging has expanded its production capability by bringing in some of the latest converting equipment to produce value-added printed cartons. “We are serious about the quality and, thus, many quality control tasks are being shifted to automated systems to increase reliability and reduce manual intervention. Hence, we invested in high-end technologies to ensure better quality and efficiency while maintaining high speed of production,” says Kishin Punjabi, director at Rukson Packaging.

India’s first RMGT 764E press at Amar Offset
Amar Offset Printers recently became the first company in India to install the brand new 4-color RMGT 760E press. On 14 November 2016, Amar Offset organized an open house and inauguration ceremony of the new press at its plant in Amrawati, some 160 km from Nagpur. The company, which produces monocartons and boxes for varied markets, has replaced its used Sakurai Oliver 20 x 28 inch press that was installed in 2007, with the new press. “We have invested in the 4-color RMGT 760E mainly because of the paper handling size of the press. The handling size of 765 x 600 mm gives us a wide range of flexibility to cater to different markets,” says Rajesh Morani of Amar Offset. The company also prints commercial jobs.
Sushant Packaging installs Bobst Lila II and Speedliner
Nagpur-based Sushant Packaging, the sister concern of Paragon Packaging, recently installed a Bobst Lila II 106A-2 folder-gluer and a Heiber + Schroder Speedliner to strengthen its production lines in terms of automation, better quality, reliability, versatility and performance. “Our association with Bobst dates back to 2007, when we bought our first new diecutter—a Bobst SP102,” says SA Nagmote of Sushant Packaging. This is not the first time that the company has purchased high-end, fully loaded heavy metal from top equipment manufacturers. In fact, the company, which began operations in 2007, has invested in increasing capacity almost every year not only in the pressroom, finishing and postpress, but also in its prepress capabilities.
