What’s drupa to the printing industry, interpack is to the packaging and processing segment. The exhibition opens on 4 May and will be a 7-day affair where companies will showcase products and solutions from the fields of packaging technology, related processes and packaging materials from the F&B segment, pharma, cosmetics and industrial goods. According to interpack officials, this year interpack has recorded the highest demand among exhibitors in the history of its show editions. More than 2,500 exhibitors fro over 60 different countries are expected to display their machines and solutions at the event.

Nextgen installs 7-color Roland 700 press at Howrah plant
Kolkata-based Nextgen Printers installed a 7-color Roland 700 sheetfed press with coater at its Howrah plant in October 2016. “The press is from manroland sheetfed Germany while technical support for maintenance is being provided by manroland sheetfed India. We also have dedicated engineers in-house, who have been trained by manroland,” says Mahesh Khandelwal, director at Nextgen Printers.

“Brands need to work harder to have a personal relationship with the consumer. That is a big challenge. HP digital printing helps brands develop a personal relationship with the consumers. Global companies have to treat their customers in a very local way. But, how does one do that? The answer is: Through technology, through digital printing and through packaging. The rise of customization is starting to catch on. Both brands and retailers have ample opportunities to treat us in a unique way. That is an opportunity for brands if they choose to use it,” said Nancy Janes, global graphics business development director, HP, at an event in Delhi that witnessed participation from over 100 brand professionals.
