Domino Printing Sciences, a global leader in the development and manufacturing of coding, marking and printing technologies, has received the ‘Supply Chain Excellence’ accolade at the prestigious annual Manufacturer MX Awards. Celebrating the best of British manufacturing, the event was held in Liverpool on 16 November, and was organized by The Manufacturer magazine in partnership with the Institute of Mechanical Engineers.
The Manufacturer MX Awards are universally recognized as the gold standard for bench-marking performance across a range of manufacturing categories, among companies of all sizes. The awards are presented following a detailed review of each entrant’s citation by groups of judges, who visit each factory in turn to inspect processes, and interview management and staff.
Domino was been shortlisted and is proud of the fact that after winning the supply chain excellence award last year, it has won the Operational Excellence category against some very tough competition. Domino was elected winner against brands like Jaguar Land rover, BMW Mini, Leyland Trucks and Philips Avent. In addition, Domino won in this category against the overall ‘factory of the year’ winner Accolade Wines. The winner selection process is rigorous and judged by highly experienced people from the industry and from organizations like IMechE and the Royal Academy of Engineering.
Nick Peters, editorial director of The Manufacturer said, “There are dozens of awards programs in the manufacturing sector, but The Manufacturer MX Awards stands head and shoulders above them all. And that is why great companies like McLaren Automotive are so eager to take part, because they know they are being tested in a way no other program can offer. It’s demanding, but companies embrace it because, perhaps for the first time, they are being bench-marked against the best.
Carl Haycock, UK printer operations director said, “We are delighted to receive this particular award against some very tough competition. It recognizes the investment that we have made in our supply chain, our people and our manufacturing processes to ensure we deliver the best possible experience for our customers. Our ability to deliver high quality, highly customized products to worldwide customers in short lead times is something we are rightly proud of.”
