Microline
Microline 25 years of innovation for packaging

Microline Srl, a designer and manufacturer of automatic machines for the tissue, food and end-of-line sectors starts the year with an important milestone: 25 years in business

Following its establishment a quarter of a century ago, the company rapidly established its market position thanks to its ability to offer innovative, customized solutions for the tissue and food industries. Headquartered in Anzola Emilia, close to Bologna, the pulsing heart of Emilia’s mechanics industry, it has succeeded in blending artisanal tradition with the latest technology, to create reliable machines to satisfy the requirements of business of all sizes.

Keeping innovation the constant focal point of its strategy, it invests in research and development in order to propose made-to-measure solutions. Over the past 25 years, Microline has made important achievements that have allowed it to consolidate its leadership in the tissue and secondary packaging sectors, by obtaining prestigious certifications that confirm its excellence.

After-sales support

In 2001, the company succeeded in one of its most ambitious endeavors of the past 25 years when it created the first waste-free packaging machine for the tissue industry, as well as installing the first complete line abroad. Another important milestone was the development and implementation of the MRA (Microline Remote Assistance) system, a solution that revolutionised customer support.

This technology allows technicians to inspect machines in real-time and make accurate diagnoses and on-demand adjustments, while minimising downtimes. From its initial analogue roots, since 2010 the MRA technology has evolved into a proprietary software-based system that is not reliant upon external servers. Thanks to this innovation and the experience of Microline technicians, the support provided is highly personalized, proactive and safe, thereby maximising customer productivity.

A vast portfolio of customizable solutions

Today, Microline offers a broad range of solutions for the tissue industry and beyond, conceived to meet the most diverse requirements. The horizontally-loading case packers – like the ROM600 and ROM800 – are ideal for packing both folded products and rolls in an efficient and flexible manner.

The AL 80 wrapping machine ensures the application of extremely thin films, without creating waste, while handling printed films or affixing ordinary paper labels inside the package without the need to use adhesive, to afford products the best possible protection and presentation.

On the secondary packaging front, Microline offers a comprehensive range of flow wrappers, such as its ECO WRAP 1050, FLOW WRAP 1000 and FAST WRAP 1250, which cover the market’s different speed requirements and are ideal for packaging products in bags of different sizes and materials. Lastly, the MLP series Cartesian palletizers stack products on pallets to ensure flexibility and efficiency, thereby optimising logistics and transport operations.

Sustainability approach

With a view to ongoing improvement and environmental sustainability, Microline machines are designed to minimize their impact on the environment. The company’s solutions optimize the use of packaging materials, with reductions in off-cuts and waste of up to 30% compared to their conventional counterparts. In addition, Microline is the only industry player to offer customers the three-roll packaging option.

Efficient production processes and the use of high-quality components help to reduce energy consumption, thus decreasing the environmental footprint of its customers. The company is constantly committed to research into innovative solutions in order to improve the sustainability of its products, thereby responding to the market’s growing demand for environmentally-friendly products.

Each Microline machine is the result of ongoing R&D investments to offer solutions that are always at the cutting edge. The intuitive user interfaces make machine programming and management possible even for less experienced users. The company is committed to simplifying production processes and reducing downtimes, by adopting technological solutions that optimize the performance of Microline machines.
