Nilpeter, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of narrow web and label presses, has announced the setting up of Nilpeter Middle East at the recent Gulf Print Dubai 2009 show. Shyam Babu, who has been designated as Managing Director of the new company, said that they have already received several promising sales enquiries for their FB line of UV Flexo presses, Caslon UV inkjet printing systems and their MO line of offset combination presses. The company is also actively pursuing business in Iran and Saudi Arabia. Nilpeter is a 90-year old company based in Denmark and operates sales and service facilities throughout Europe, North America, Central and Latin America, Asia and Australasia.
Babu said he was pleased by the interest generated at the show with label converters from Bahrain, Qatar, Syria, Egypt, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Dubai and Abu Dhabi. According to Pira International, the Middle East is a rapidly growing market for print and sales of printed output here are expected to rise from US$ 5.3 billion now to US$ 7.6 billion by 2012. The demand is driven by globally-branded FMCG products and pharmaceuticals. Major areas of growth include pressure sensitive and non-adhesive labels, wide-format products and digital colour printing. The area is seeing a lot of investments in high-end graphic technologies.
