Pharma packaging specialist Optima Pharma has moved into a new building in the industrial park in Schwaebisch Hall. The CSPE III Centre, which covers around 4,800 square meters, has been equipped to meet the special requirements of pharmaceutical machine construction and offers additional capacity to produce filling systems with isolators.
The first machines will move into the new hall in May. “We have a strong order book for our filling systems with isolators. These systems are becoming increasingly larger and more complex, with longer project lead times – which in turn means a continuously growing need for space,” explains Hans Buehler, managing partner of the Optima Group.
In addition to Schwaebisch Hall, two further construction projects in Germany are underway – In Radolfzell, a new assembly hall for isolators and an administration building are being built. In Gladenbach, assembly capacities for freeze dryers are being expanded by 50% to meet rising demand. Together, turnkey filling systems for the highest purity classes are being developed and implemented for use by pharmaceutical companies worldwide.
The investment in urgently needed infrastructure is part of a comprehensive package of measures that includes construction projects and the expansion of teams at all locations, including international sites. “Our capacity expansion serves the sole purpose of offering our customers complete reliability and thus making an important contribution to medical care worldwide,” emphasizes Dr. Johannes-Thomas Grobe, CEO of Optima Pharma.
The Optima Pharma division designs, develops, and implements filling and packaging systems for pharmaceuticals. Its portfolio includes high-safety and flexible filling, sealing, and process technologies, pharmaceutical freeze-drying, and isolators.
Optima Pharma is part of the Optima Group, headquartered in Schwäbisch Hall, Germany. Optima is a technology leader in precise dosing, filling, packaging, and handling of sensitive liquid and solid products.
