At the ceremony on 11 June, judges recognized TerraCode Bio for its blend of environmental and performance benefits

Flint Group Packaging Solutions has been presented with a gold award in the Technical Innovation (Supplier) category at the 2026 Flexographic Industry Association (FIA UK) Awards for its TerraCode Bio range of bio-renewable ink solutions.

At the ceremony on 11 June, judges recognized TerraCode Bio for its blend of environmental and performance benefits. The water-based ink system is derived from up to 90% bio-renewable and recycled materials, helping deliver proven CO₂ reductions of up to 25%. Its unique formulation ensures stability and is engineered to replicate the performance of conventional water-based inks, supporting high speeds on press with no drop in quality.

Designed for applications including corrugated packaging, industrial bags and sacks, food service packaging, and film, the range enables printers and converters to transition towards renewable materials while maintaining consistent print quality and productivity.

TerraCode Bio has already achieved strong adoption across Europe, particularly in the post-print corrugated sector, where it now outperforms traditional extender systems. Customers report a smooth transition with no measurable impact on throughput and improved environmental performance.

Paul Winstanley, vice president technology & product management, at Flint Group Packaging Solutions said: “TerraCode Bio was developed to address a clear challenge facing printers today: how best to reduce environmental impact without adding unnecessary risk or complexity into the pressroom. This recognition from the FIA UK Awards reflects the technology’s strength in both performance and carbon reduction, and is a testament to the expertise of our development teams.

“By using responsibly sourced, bio-renewable materials, including those derived from recovered streams, we are helping customers move towards more sustainable packaging structures without compromising recyclability or operational performance. This acknowledgement by FIA UK truly demonstrates that with modern ink technology, sustainability and performance truly can go hand in hand.”
