Faridabad-based Alliance Printech, a manufacturer of narrow-web flexo presses, inspection slitter-rewinders, and other converting and finishing equipment, says it is evolving towards mid-web and multi-substrate printing technologies. In a recent interaction with Packaging South Asia, Jatinder Julka, managing director and founder of the company, along with Aryaman Julka, head of international sales, discussed the company’s milestones and how it foresees growth opportunities overseas.
The company is currently moving towards mid-web presses for sleeves as it sees the label printing industries growing and diversifying in that direction. Mid-web presses can handle the in-between web-width product segments that are too wide to fit on a narrow web label press and too narrow to efficiently or viably shift to a wide-web stack or CI flexo presses. It’s not just print quality but also productivity.
Labels mean more than just narrow-web in today’s modern packaging design ecosystem where a majority of brand owners are targeting Gen Z as primary customers. In that context, eCommerce becomes a major promoter in shelving and marketing. Premium attraction and shelf impact are required even for the most basic products, such as soft drinks or yogurt, that are sold off very quickly.

According to Julka, Alliance is focusing on high-speed inspection rewinder systems for better quality assurance in the overly competitive Indian packaging industry. He says, “It’s the era of innovation and competition driven heavily by automation and sustainable practices. For each print to be of desired quality, exceptional inspection is required, which could be missed by manual intervention due to slackness, or any number of reasons. Our automated inspection rewinder systems enhance the quality check process enabling meticulous inspection.”
Another significant industry change is directly connected to sustainability, as converters experiment and explore substrate alternatives to plastic. Almost all Quick Service Restaurants (QSR) chains and eCommerce platforms are switching to paper labels. Even consumers are more aware of the sustainable impacts of switching to paper. “Our Multi-Substrate press is perfect for this evolving space. From labels to packaging materials our equipment delivers exceptional results on every surface, ensuring outstanding print quality and consistency,” Julka asserts.
Julka claims that his machines have been installed in more than 20 countries, including India, USA, Hungary, Italy, Peru, Ghana, Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait, Turkey, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Botswana, Egypt, Lebanon, and Cyprus. He says that Alliance has a strong grip in Middle Eastern countries and from a sales perspective, it will focus strongly on Russia and SAARC countries.
“International fairs and trade shows help advance operations and branding,” he adds. “RosUpack, Gulf Print & Pack, and Labelexpo Brussels are some of the international fairs we participated in recently. Each gave us extra mileage with a stronger network and information about the global industries. Moreover, the strength and growth of Indian manufacturers has been phenomenal in each of these markets, and till 2032 growth is the only direction India is poised to witness,” he concludes.
