Andrea Calcagni is educated and trained in business and finance. After his education, he spent some years working outside the family business before joining it, which gives him a fresh perspective and opportunity to contribute to the company’s growth. In our conversation with him, he said, “India is a really promising market where flexo is growing as compared to rotogravure because the short-run printing work is finding demand in the country. As we all know, 2019 was a little slow for the industry due to the slowdown, but 2020 looks very promising. We’re sure about 2020 as we already have orders in the pipeline.” These orders, according to Calcagni, are in the final stages, and the company is extremely hopeful about confirming them. In FY 2020-21, Omet India is expecting 3 to 4 orders. Despite the slowdown, the company managed to sell and install at least two presses in 2019.
