Tetra Pak, a food processing and packaging solutions company, showcased its integrated capabilities for protein and value-added dairy at the Dairy Industry Conference (DIC) 2026 at IICC Yashobhoomi in Delhi.

Recognizing protein as the next big thing in the dairy space, Tetra Pak says it aims to accelerate the launch of protein-based products in the market through Nutriverse, a co-creation program designed to navigate the complexities of value-added dairy.

Unlike traditional service models, Nutriverse is an integrated ecosystem that begins with market scanning and global trend analysis. By sharing consumer insights and exploring various ingredient possibilities and health claims, Tetra Pak collaborates with brand owners to identify and prioritize unique market opportunities.

This hands-on approach continues at the company’s specialized product development center in Chakan, where expert teams translate these briefs into concrete formulations and finalized product ranges.

Saurabh Sinha, marketing director, Tetra Pak South Asia, told IndiFoodBev, “The move toward Nutriverse was prompted by the intricate challenges brands face when developing protein beverages. Balancing high protein content with varied flavor profiles while meeting consumer demands for low sugar requires technical precision.”

The integration of different stabilizers and protein sources necessitates an expertise that ensures all components harmonize effectively, he explained.

By fostering a collaborative hand-holding environment, Tetra Pak says it works to reduce the time-to-market for its partners and enables the final product to meet the high expectations of modern consumers, hoping to create a win-win scenario for both the brand owners and the end-users.

As consumer demand shifts from commoditized liquid milk to protein-rich and functional beverages, dairy companies are prioritizing value addition in milk for consumers demanding more from milk. Capturing this opportunity requires more than equipment; it demands deep product expertise, integrated technology, and the ability to scale efficiently and sustainably,” he explained.

Complementing the nutritional innovation is a focus on specialized packaging. Sinha emphasizes that because consumers in India often view protein as a premium enhancement to traditional dairy, the packaging must justify the higher price point through superior functionality and design.

The company had a line-up of liquid and powder protein processing solutions, alongside a range of aseptic packaging formats.

Tetra Pak UF System– It uses ultra-filtration to separate and concentrate proteins from milk or whey. It removes water, lactose, and other unwanted components, leaving behind high-protein milk or protein-rich ingredients. This makes it ideal for products such as high-protein shakes, nutritional beverages, yogurts, and protein concentrates.

Tetra Pak Bag Tipping Unit CS VS600– It allows operators to manually empty bags of powder or ingredients safely and hygienically. With its compact design and built-in vibrating sifter, it removes unwanted particles or foreign bodies, ensuring only clean, high-quality product enters the process.

Tetra Pak Homogenizer 250– It offers efficient homogenization of both low and high-acid products, including pasteurized milk, ESL milk, beverages, and more.
