UK-based Atlas Converting Equipment will present the latest Atlas CW Series and Titan SR9 Series slitter rewinders for plastic film and flexible materials at Chinaplas 2015, to be held
in Guangzhou, China from 20 to 23 May at Stand 8.1A01 Hall 8.1
The Atlas CW Series slitter-rewinder range includes machine widths from2.5 metres to 10.4 metres with speeds of up to 1,500 metres a minute. The company has now sold over 80 of the new platform CW Series slitter-rewinders for BOPP, BOPET and CPP films in various
worldwide locations, including many in China. The range now includes the CW3600 Series (2.5 to 3.6 metres), CW5400 Series (4.2 to 5.4 metres) and CW1040 Series primary film slitters from 8.0 to 10.4 metres.
This latest Atlas technology features wireless rewind arm positioning, automatic knife positioning and direct drive web path rollers ensuring optimum web tension for films as thin as 6 micron and up to 125 micron. The new platform also delivers higher efficiency, increased productivity and reliability, higher quality rewind reels, reduced noise levels
and more effective, operator-friendly control systems.
TheAtlasCW1040Serieshas been designed to cope with the increasing speed of film production lines and does not just rely on a sustainable, increased running speed to achieve this – the CW1040 also has faster acceleration and deceleration cycles. Compared to a conventional primary film slitter running at 1,500 metres a minute producing rewind lengths of 8,000 metres, the Atlas CW Series will have a faster rewind cycle, but at only 1,200 metres a minute.
When running much longer rewind lengths at a speed of 1,500 metres a minute, together with faster acceleration and deceleration cycles, the new CW Series far out-performs conventional primary film slitters. Atlas also manufactures the Titan range of secondary slitter-rewinders for flexible packaging materials, plastic film, label stock, laminates and paper with more than 2,500 installations in over 70 countries. The latest Titan SR9 Series modular slitter rewinders provide slitting productivity, design modularity and rewind reel quality. Features include reduced power consumption, faster set-up time and improved sustainability
