Enis Ersü, CEO, ISRA

New manager Lars Brickenkamp’s tasks will include coordinating activities in new markets and expanding the industrial automation segment along with its global distribution network. ISRA CEO Enis Ersü is looking forward to working with him. “With Lars Brickenkamp, we will drive forward the development of intelligent, networked and adaptive modules, and with it ISRA’s global growth. He has outstanding knowledge of key customer markets and the right expertise in technology and sales to position our new product concepts worldwide and in the best possible way.” Brickenkamp has already held leading management positions at various electronics companies, most recently the automation corporation Phoenix Contact. As head of division of Device Connectors, he was leading a division with a sales volume of around half a billion euros.

The industrial automation segment includes ISRA’s new Touch and Automate solutions, which allow customers in various industries to design the fully automated and flexible execution of key production steps. Due to the wireless smart sensor networks, the 3D sensors can be used and machine vision tasks can be automated in an adaptive way. They are operated via tablet PCs running Windows as their operating system, used by the sensors as well (embedded Windows). The sensor configuration is process adaptive – the systems adapt to changing tasks by installing corresponding software applications. Another new possibility is connecting multiple sensors along a production line. Direct communication between the sensors in the network enables tailored adaptation at any time.

The systems are quick to install and already have a huge range of possible applications – automated de-palletizing; random bin picking, which has already proved successful in many applications; and three-dimensional inspection of steel plates and curved surfaces, to name but a few. Combined in the networking Touch and Automate portfolio, their flexible uses will help unlock further markets. The company will be showcasing initial example applications for further developed products at Hannover Messe.
