The financial year 2024-25 (FY24-25) has been quite good for Komori India, which installed a number of packaging machines in India. A subsidiary of the Tokyo-headquartered Komori Corporation, Komori India celebrated its sixth anniversary in India this June.

Komori India had reported 35 orders from India at drupa24 (held from 28 May – 7 June in Dusseldorf, Germany). The company already had a dozen orders for installations in hand by the end of April 2024. The remaining 23 machines were actual deals finalized during the printing and packaging show. The Komori Group received orders for 150 machines during the show out of which one-fourth of the orders were from India, Jun Sudo, president, Komori India said in a previous interaction with Packaging South Asia.

Komori India has installed nearly 220 machines since the Komori India subsidiary came into place in 2018, Sudo said, adding by the end of FY 2024-25, the company hopes to reach 270-280 installations. “Quite a few customers have installed a second or third Komori machine based on the service that they have received on their first or second Komori machine(s). We would like to make sure we keep up and hopefully exceed customer expectations,” he added.

Komori India entered the Indian market with the strong belief to penetrate deep into it, he said, adding it will continue to work hard to obtain the trust of the customers.

Rukson Packaging installs second Komori

Navi Mumbai-based Rukson Packaging installed a brand new Komori Lithrone GL640+C UV Advance  in order to elevate the overall print quality and productivity at the its production facility.

Rukson Packaging, which supplies monocartons to customers from different sectors, constantly works on expanding its customer base, product range and machines, Gobind Panjabi, director, Rukson Packaging said. “There are certain challenges when it comes to maintaining quality in prints and productivity to fulfill all new demands we constantly receive from our customers and end users. We need to regularly enhance our capability with constant adoptions of newer machines or technologies, in which the Komori Lithrone GL 640+C UV is the latest in our facility. Our first machine was a Komori LS 32, which we installed around a decade ago. We have been impressed and smitten by the Komori technology alongside the cost-effectiveness of the two machines we have owned to date,” he said.

Apart from monocartons, Rukson Packaging also prints labels, leaflets, catch covers, and calendars for a number of customers in the pharmaceuticals, FMCG and food segments.

Established in 1991, Vijayshri Packaging has been manufacturing packaging as well as commercial print jobs. Over the years, the company has carved a niche for itself in the packaging of chocolates and confectionery. Vijayshri Packaging deals in five major categories – monocartons, window cartons, liner cartons, litho-laminated cartons and corrugated shippers.

Vijayshri’s manufacturing plant is located at RR Industrial Park in Indore in Madhya Pradesh, with a total area of 10 acres out of which the total built-up area is 25,000 square meters. The Komori Lithrone GL 637 IR UV is Vijayshri’s third investment in Komori in the last four years to scale up production, maintain color consistency and shorten turnaround time.

“The hallmark of our growth is our ability to choose the right technology at the right time. The Komori Lithrone GL 640 was our biggest technological leap towards boosting the quality and quantity of our products to a whole new level. This thought process also applies to post-press, where we constantly develop new structures, shapes, and solutions,” Ayush Jain, director of Vijayshri Packaging said.
