Belgium-based Enfocus Software provides affordable, flexible automation software for general commercial and specialized printers through its global network of certified integrators. In the first part of a two-part series on the software provider – Akshai Ravichandran, channel manager, Enfocus, talked about automation software for print and packaging and the company’s experience, challenges, and expansion plans in the Indian market. This article covers its software solutions for the Indian market.

Enfocus is a wholly owned subsidiary of Esko, a part the Veralto Group, which includes related brands in the packaging and print technology sectors. A part of the broader Esko family, Enfocus focuses on serving the commercial print and wide-format markets in India while Esko primarily focuses on the packaging market and is the de facto packaging prepress brand. Enfocus operates through a representation in the Veralto Bangalore office, sharing the facilities and leveraging the well-established distributor and channel partner networks of the group.

Ravichandran says all the Enfocus’ software solutions are available globally and are widely deployed across India with a customer base spanning major metro areas and key industrial hubs. Enfocus first began by using its software for preflighting for print and editing print-ready PDF’s such as PitStop. With further development, the company subsequently added workflow automation and tools for planning and layout modules such as Switch, PitStop Pro, Enfocus Review, PitStop Server, Griffin, and the AI powered Phoenix. Starting from the first modules, modules can be added to increase automation in the entire workflow and scaled for use by larger print companies.

PitStop Pro

PitStop Pro is a PDF preflight and editing tool that integrates with Adobe Acrobat to enable PDF checking, verification, auto-correction, and manual editing of graphic and text content. “This program is designed to eliminate PDF problems before they cost our customers time and money, caching hidden issues that would otherwise cause delays, reprints, or poor results on press,” Ravichandran explained.

PitStop Server

PitStop Server is an automated solution for prepress PDF quality control, designed for server environments. It supports large printers and media firms seeking to automate file verification as part of their production workflow, reducing manual intervention in preflight and repair tasks and minimizing the risk of human error to create reliable, repeatable results, freeing staff to work on more value-added tasks.

Switch

Enfocus Switch is a versatile workflow automation platform designed to simplify and automate repetitive prepress and publishing tasks. It is available in versions suited to different business sizes and integrates well with third-party systems such as MIS and ERP. “The platform supports secure file transfers, scalable automation, and workflow monitoring, and has proven popular due to its flexibility and ease of use,” Ravichandran said.

Enfocus Review

Enfocus Review improves collaboration by enabling online reviewing and approvals of PDF files. “By centralizing all aspects of proofing and feedback, Enfocus Review avoids challenges associated with customers viewing inaccurately rendered documents, providing peace of mind that every element is seen exactly as it will appear in print,” Ravichandran said. The program has full mobile support, making it easy to check and approve files from anywhere.

Griffin

Griffin is an award-winning solution designed for smart, fast automated nesting. “Universal device support means it fits right in with customers’ existing technology, enabling them to make the most of existing investments while benefiting from big efficiency gains,” Ravichandran said.

Phoenix

Phoenix offers an AI-powered solution for transforming planning, imposition, and cost estimation. “This powerful solution optimizes preproduction for packaging and labels, calculating the most cost-effective way to produce any job in seconds,” according to Ravichandran.
