Thermoforming packaging machines have become a core technology in modern food and industrial packaging, offering high efficiency, material optimization, and flexible design possibilities. By forming packages directly from rollstock film, these systems reduce waste while enabling a wide range of packaging formats, from vacuum to modified atmosphere and skin packaging.
Founded in 1994 in Zhejiang, China, Utien Pack has developed over three decades of experience in thermoforming and tray-sealing technologies across food, medical, and industrial sectors. Rather than positioning itself as a standard equipment supplier, the company focuses on delivering customized, application-driven packaging solutions.
Each project begins with a detailed understanding of the customer’s product characteristics, production goals, and market positioning. From there, the company designs integrated systems that combine forming, filling, sealing, cutting, and downstream automation into a cohesive workflow. This approach allows customers to move beyond isolated machinery and toward complete packaging lines optimized for efficiency, consistency, and scalability.
Case Study – integrated sauce packaging for the Philippine market
One example of this solution-driven approach can be seen in a project developed for a customer in the Philippines serving a major quick-service restaurant brand. The requirement was to create a high-speed, hygienic packaging system for small-portion sauce applications, typically used for chicken nuggets and other dipping products.
Utien Pack engineered a thermoforming packaging line integrated with an automatic dosing system capable of delivering precise portions ranging from 5 to 15 grams. The system was designed not only for accuracy, but also for product consistency and operational hygiene.
To maintain the texture and flow characteristics of the sauce, the dosing unit incorporates an internal heating function, ensuring stable viscosity throughout production. In addition, an automatic cleaning system allows the equipment to switch efficiently between different sauce types while maintaining strict hygiene standards.
Production efficiency was another critical requirement. The final system achieves an output of over 20,000 units per hour, supporting large-scale commercial operations. All components in contact with the product are manufactured using 316 stainless steel, ensuring compliance with food safety standards and long-term durability.
Beyond machinery, the packaging solutions provider also supported the customer in package design optimization, helping to refine the structure and usability of the final product. The result was a fully integrated packaging solution that not only met production targets but also received strong feedback from the end customer in terms of quality, consistency, and reliability.
Case Study – high-precision nut packaging for the Australian market

In another project, an Australian customer required an advanced packaging solution for nuts, combining distinctive package design with high-speed automated filling. The concept involved creating a deep, cup-shaped container, resembling an inverted tree structure. This design posed a significant technical challenge, as it required deep forming of rigid film without compromising structural integrity or material efficiency.
To address this, Utien Pack applied its patented thermoforming technology, achieving forming depths of up to 180 mm while maintaining stability and precision. At the same time, the system operates with film thicknesses below 1000 microns, significantly reducing material consumption compared to conventional methods that often require 1200 microns or more. This results in long-term cost savings for the customer without sacrificing package quality.
The packaging line was further enhanced with a 16-head multihead weigher, enabling fast and accurate product distribution into each formed cavity. The integration between forming and filling systems ensures a seamless workflow, minimizing manual intervention and maximizing throughput.
From standalone machines to integrated line solutions
As packaging demands continue to evolve, the industry is shifting from standalone equipment toward fully integrated line solutions. Customers today require systems that not only perform individual tasks but also work together seamlessly to deliver consistent results across the entire production process.
Utien Pack’s approach reflects this transition. By combining thermoforming, dosing, weighing, sealing, and automation technologies into unified systems, the company enables manufacturers to streamline operations and reduce complexity. More importantly, these tailored solutions are designed to support each customer’s specific market needs, whether that involves improving product presentation, extending shelf life, or increasing production efficiency.
