Echaar Equipments, a flexible packaging solutions manufacturer, launched the Flexocompact series, a compact central impression (CI) flexo printing machine on the opening day of Hiplex 2026 in Hyderabad in August, targeting the growing mid-web printing and packaging segment.
The new model comes in both gearless and geared variants, with the geared version offering speeds of up to 200 meters per minute. The high-speed gearless technology is designed to deliver top performance even at lower speeds.
According to Vikram Panchal, project manager and CMD at Echaar Equipments, the press is designed specifically for compact spaces and versatile operations. The machine offers a maximum web width of 700 mm to 880 mm, with print repeat lengths ranging from a minimum of 240 mm to a maximum of 650 mm.
Standard color configurations include 4, 6, and 8 colors based on customer demand, tailored to optimize space while providing to businesses transitioning from gravure printing or narrow-web operations to mid-web flexible packaging.
The machinery supports multiple ink systems, including UV, water-based, and solvent-based inks. This versatility offers significant advantages for label converters traditionally restricted to UV printing, enabling them to expand into solvent-based printing and flexible packaging.
“Industry visitors and technical delegates at Hiplex 2026 expressed strong interest in the machine’s balanced combination of speed, functionality, and multi-substrate print capabilities,” Panchal said.
He said while the industry continues to evolve, technology adoption must be accompanied by improvements in operational capabilities.
“The key challenge is enabling converters to adopt advanced technologies while simultaneously upgrading skills, process control, and standardization. Success depends on developing the complete ecosystem rather than investing in machinery alone,” he said.
He said Echaar Equipments has spent more than four decades investing in innovations aimed at improving productivity and quality while supporting sustainable manufacturing practices.
