Vivek Kapoor, director, Creative Labels, with the Gallus ECS 340 at the Navi Mumbai plant

Creative Labels known for printing on pressure-sensitive substrates with PE, PP, metallized paper, films, chromo and cast gloss face stock for the FMCG, industrial and pharmaceutical segments has a new 8,500 square foot plant in Navi Mumbai. The new plant is equipped with Gallus EM 280 and ECS 340 narrow web flexo presses, an Iwasaki letterpress and and inspection and quality control systems from Omega and Flytech.

Vivek Kapoor, director, Creative Labels, says, “We bought the Iwasaki letterpress for short-runs and medium runs in order to reduce wastage and so that we did not have to focus too much on tooling. The easy to operate Gallus EM280with6printing units allows flexo and screen printing on a quick-change platform which make it exceptional for both water-based and UV flexographic printing. It has been upgraded to handle hot foil embossing and cold foil printing. It is a good machine for long web path.”

The company’s most recent installation is a Gallus ECS 340, which is cost-effective and produces high-quality labels. The short web path press has a water cooling system allowing the use of unsupported film materials. The granite structure absorbs vibration helping to make the press very steady with minimal waste and quick set up as well as noiseless. The short web path between printing units is helps registration and saves on material costs. Designed to help label printers save money without compromising on print quality it can also be used for shrink sleeves and laminates. Set-upand job changes are fast due to the light weight front loading plate cylinder sleeves.

“Right now we are trying to increase the efficiency of our machines rather than focus on capital investment. Using our machines with speciality inks, we can provide many innovative solutions to our customers. Overtime, the cost of raw material has increased and so the reduction of wastage has become a primary concern. At Navi Mumbai, we installed the Omega and Flytech inspection machines to maintain quality standards of our labels at an extremely highlevel. While our marketing office is in Andheri, in addition to the Navi Mumbai plant we have another plant in the North where we plan to produce cartons, concludes Kapoor.”
